Angel has a series of headlining shows at the Gambling Overlord's casino. Caught between who owns him and who wants to own him. Angel, after spilling his drink all over him, finds love with a different overlord, Alastor. Star crossed lovers, somehow Alastor and Angel continue their romance in the dark and behind closed doors, keeping their relationship a secret, despite the weight of the unspoken acknowledgement between them that they can never truly be together. Unless fate allows.

this has two timelines, backwards Evolution being the fic that's the base to both paths/endings!!
path A: Vox escapes and has to deal with the aftermath of what Alastor did to him (and Alastor absolutely gets his comeuppance ten times over) or "the light ending"
path B: Vox, for whatever reason, stays with Alastor and eventually becomes unrepairable, forced to stay as someone he hadn't been in decades (and Alastor has a horrible influence on him) or "the dark ending" (or "the gaslight gatekeep girlboss ending" as my roommate loves to call it)

Summary
A long time ago, Alastor and Vox had been friends. Until suddenly, they had a falling out due to Vox's pushiness and overeagerness to progress to the future; Alastor was fine with being left in the past, but Vox wanted Alastor to come with him. Alastor refused and Vox thought that was the end of their friendship.
However, Alastor had different plans. Instead of Vox pulling Alastor along with him on the path to the Future, Alastor wishes to bring Vox right where he belongs.
By Alastor's side, and his head reverted to the much more suitable sort of television. One set in mahogany wood that was large and boxy, and possessed a curved glass screen that was a mere 10 inches in diameter.

Lucifer had faced a lot of ridiculous things in his eternal life—apocalyptic battles, divine punishment, Charlie’s chaotic cooking—but nothing, absolutely nothing, could have prepared him for this.
It started small. A little fatigue, annoying headaches, stabbing abdominal pains, and some unusual magic fluctuations, Alastor making increasingly worried faces at him (which, frankly, was a crime in itself). And then? Then came the real revelation—one so absurd that even Heaven would’ve done a double take.
Alastor, for his part, was taking it about as well as one could expect. Which is to say: not at all. The Radio Demon, usually so smug and unshakable, now found himself confronted with a reality that made even him nervous.
They had been prepared for war. For scheming. For celestial nonsense and infernal disasters. But this? This was different. This was domestic. This was parenthood. And quite frankly, Lucifer wasn’t sure if they were more horrified… or hysterically entertained.

The way Vox looked at Alastor with wide, curious eyes, his expression open and unassuming, made him seem like an irresistible puzzle. There was an innocence to him—or perhaps a naive trust—that stirred something unexpected within Alastor. His mind whispered words he hadn't entertained in years: mine, mine alone.
There was an almost savage urge to keep Vox close, hidden away from the world. Not to harm him, no—Alastor wanted to possess him, to shield him from the influence of others, to let Vox’s attention, his warm smiles, and his laughter belong solely to him. Alastor knew he should dismiss such notions as sentimentality, yet the compulsion ran deeper than that; it was dark and feral, lodged somewhere beyond logic.
