We need more of these kind of fics, actually"... and then the scene happened and I was literally screaming inside my head: "I TAKE IT BACK, WE DON'T NEED MORE, WE DON'T NEED MOREEE 😭😭😭". Someone new moved to Smallville, in the house on the other side of the Kent farm.
Clark meets the new kid, Bruce Wayne, and his first impression isn't great. He thinks that Bruce is spoiled and rude and out of place. Maybe that's why he blows up at him. But he still saves him when he's in trouble, that's just the kind of person that Clark is.
After a while they develop a tentative kind of friendship over the summer. Bruce isn't like anyone else that Clark knows, and he feels connected to him in all of his out of place-ness.
His own feelings for the other take him by surprise, he only hopes that he can stomp them down before he ruins their friendship over them.

Amazing series. Author said their versions of Superbat are Tom Welling and a mix of all of the Batman's for Batman and honestly SAME. THIS IS WHO I PICTURE Every time I READ SUPERBAT. Because Smallville was so iconic for its time and for Bruce, he is a little bit Keaton, a smaller bit Bale, and a whole lotta DC comics. Finished all three parts.
Storylines were very unique and well executed. Thoroughly enjoyed.
