Batman didn’t kill humans; that was a line he wouldn’t cross. He had his codes, unyielding and unwavering. No matter the crime, no matter the depravity, he would not take a life unless there was no other choice. But for the vampires, the creatures who had taken so much from him, the rules were different. Their kind had torn apart his family, murdered his mother and left him with nothing but shadows and pain. To them, he had no mercy. Behind his cape, hidden in the folds of his armour, a stake always waited. The night was his domain, and anyone who preyed upon the innocent would meet their end by his hand.

Summary
It wasn't like Damian always had fights with his Father, but that doesn't mean the ones he had were pleasant. On the contrary, whenever one happened, it was either Alfred the Cat or Titus the Great Dane he could get comfort from; occasionally from his brother Dick Grayson. They were never enough, nothing was.
Except for the arms, he always wished to be in whenever he felt bad. He knew his best friend(?) wouldn't turn him away. At the very best, he would be quiet.

A literal domesticated feline animal that one could get from the pet store and not just a person with some cat-like personality traits. There’s no other explanation as to why his familiar acts like every single asshole cat meme to ever exist.

Summary

He doesn't mean for it to turn in a rescue for broken things, he just... he can't help but love the animals that no one else wants. Thus, when he overhears a greasy, crude asshole trying to pawn off a rooster in the middle of a farmer's market, he doesn't hesitate.
But there's something wrong with this rooster. It doesn't crow at sunrise—which is the only thing Peter expects a rooster would do—but it does holler its tail off whenever Peter bends over. And it follows him around and clucks like it's talking to him. And it's weirdly good at killing the vermin around the house.
There's a mystery afoot. Peter's going to get to the bottom of it.
