Summary
When Merlin Ambrose moves to his father's childhood home, the mountain town of Fern Creek, Oregon, to help his recently widowed Aunt Finna run the General Store, she warns him not to go near the old cabin in the woods. The man who lives there is a recluse and is likely to shoot him for trespassing. Of course, Merlin, being a child prodigy and genius computer hacker, cannot resist the temptation—the moment he sets eyes on the man, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to him.
Arthur Erickson is content, living in his cabin with Kizzy and Sixer, his two Australian Shepherds, forging beautiful knives and building furniture. The last thing he needs is a nosey and annoying neighbor kid poking around on his property, driving him mad, and asking questions that Arthur cannot answer. Arthur soon finds his defenses crumbling against that smile and the mirthful blue eyes.
When Arthur's past catches up with him, Merlin gets caught up in a game of cat and mouse with a serial killer. While the whole town believes that Arthur is behind the murder of a young woman, Merlin knows he is innocent. He refuses to believe that the man he has come to love is a killer and will do anything to clear his name.

(Merlin is a random name he came up with) When learning about the prophecy from Kilgharrah, he decides it is his duty to leave and go to Camelot to fulfill said prophecy. This however means Merlin has to leave behind many people he loves. Merlin finds that love expands elsewhere soon after arriving in Camelot.

Arthur Pendragon was sent by his father to live in Ealdor with Merlin at the time of the war in Camelot, one for his safety, and another to meet, the warlock, Merlin, and gain his trust. While Merlin was in conflict about his and Arthur’s destiny and how it ended, wanted to escape from it. Wanted Arthur to escape from it. Not knowing that he could not escape from his half until the time came.

Despite what some might think, it actually happened years ago—the curse, as Arthur’s been calling it, albeit halfheartedly. Because really, it hasn’t been all that bothersome. Honestly, after it happened, after a rogue sorcerer snuck into his chambers to cast a spell on him in his sleep before Arthur ran a sword through him, it took him a while to even recognize that he had it—his new ability.
He already knew he had a propensity to be able to tell when people were being dishonest. One has to, when one is attempting to navigate politics from such a high-ranking position, when one is expected to inherit so much power. Arthur was trained to fight since birth, in all senses of the word, and as he’s slowly come to learn since he’s gained this ability, violence often comes long before a single sword is drawn, like a flash of lightning before the sound of thunder.

Summary
When Merlin's Mother comes to Camelot to ask for help for their village, the last thing he expects to see is the king hugging her and proclaiming her his sister. Merlin soon learns being royalty isn't as easy as it seems, add that to a greater destiny to achieve, and he soon finds himself out of his depth. It's a good thing Arthur is there to help him through it.
I believe the story is wrapped up nicely but it is left open-ended. If it inspires you please feel free to adopt it.
