The forest was beautiful at night, and X always felt peace out in the dark woods. So calm, the only sounds the frogs, fireflies, the rustling leaves, a gentle wind blowing, all of it. He loved it.
The woods behind his base were just what he'd come out to experience. He walked down the carefully laid path, smiling at the serenity he felt.

Xisumavoid has been careful, toeing the line of caring for his hermits and maintaining the show that’s expected, playing the character of wrath barely restrained. That’s entertaining. It’s always been enough.
It won’t be enough this time.

One of the people there offers him a job in exchange for a roof above his head, food and all the pleasure that he could ever want.
At first Grian isn't sure about the whole situation, but the hermits grow on him pretty quickly.

Summary
Xisuma made an effort to attend Hermit gatherings, no matter how much responsibility weighed on his shoulders. He was their admin, but he refused to let that role separate him from the people he cared about.
He liked listening to them banter, sitting at the edges of conversations and letting the noise wash over him. He didn’t always need to participate. It was enough just to be there.
But inevitably, the tiredness crept in.
Or, Xisuma falls asleep a lot. Maybe it's a problem?

He’s trying to delay the inevitable – primarily, being shirtless in front of a lot of people with Scar ‘Godlike Abs’ Goodtimes right next to him for comparison. It’s not working very well. “Just, I can think of, off the top of my head, oh, sixteen ways this could go wrong. At least three of them end with us respawning. At least.”
“Oh, no!” Scar, already reclining across a table in a distinctly louche manner, is nude from the waist up and looking distinctly self-satisfied about it. If anybody present knew who Jeff Goldblum was, multiple comparisons would have already been made. “It’s a terrible idea, and it’s going to go horribly wrong.”

Summary
Jimmy has a hard time remembering things. He knows he wasn’t always this small. He knows he wasn’t always in a cage. He knows he used to have a family.
Jimmy lets out a small chirp.
He used to be louder, nosier, but he can’t muster the energy anymore. It’s too cold and dark down here, and there's been this strange smell that hurts Jimmy’s head and makes it hard for him to see straight.
Jimmy’s headache becomes more pronounced. He lets out another soft chirp, sagging against the metal bars of his cage. He tries to stay upright, but he loses his grip on his perch and falls down to the bottom of his cage.
He tries to turn his head, to let out some sort of warning for his Miner, but something feels too heavy and constricting on his lungs and he can’t make a sound.
When he focuses back up at the ceiling, he feels like he’s flying - soaring once more, without the restriction of his cage.
He’s flying, and everything goes dark.
