With a server filled with so many different kinds of hybrids, everyone knew that misunderstandings were going to occur. What was seen as polite in one culture screamed hostility in another, what was seen as rude to some of them was basically a marriage proposal to others. It had been a problem at first, their very definitions of words had been different between species, and they had taken quite a long time to figure that out and clear it up. But they had figured it out, and they'd had many long and confusing conversations to try and make sure that they were all on the same page.
They all knew to try not to jump to conclusions when it came to things that were only implied instinctively and not explicitly, and over the years they'd been friends they'd all got quite good at asking for clarification when they were confused.
They'd got so good in fact, that they'd started reaching the point where they stopped having problems. It helped, of course, that they'd done some research into each other's species and the cultures that surrounded them, so they were actually quite good at understanding each other by this point.
Still, even after all that time, it was something as simple as a feather that stumped Scott.

Preening was an intimate thing. Only done between family, partners, or really close friends. And Gem and Impulse were his friends, his allies, he would trust them with his life. But this was a death game, and his instincts were on high alert, so that simply wasn’t enough.
Just leaving his wings wasn't pleasant – the itchy feathers were a whole new kind of hell that left him wondering if it was worth dying a couple of times so that he could get out of the game – but until he figured out who he could trust with his wings, it was the only option he had. Jimmy would normally be his first choice, but he was red, and while Scott knew that he was unlikely to use Scott’s weakness to his advantage between sessions, there was always a chance. Out of the non-red players, most of them were ruled out simply for the same reason Impulse and Gem were ruled out. Regardless of past alliances, or close friendships, his instincts were demanding complete trust, which was hard to come by in a game of death and betrayal, especially this one, where keeping secrets from each other was kind of the entire thing.
Hard to come by… but not impossible.

Deadpool does a better job understanding Spider-Man's strengths and limitations as an autistic super than pretty much anyone else does. This doesn't stop Peter from getting involved with a cult while investigting a series of suicide bombers. He's just that much of a disaster, autistic or not.
I play fast and loose with canon but try to stay true to (what I perceive to be) the spirit of the characters. Note that neither Peter nor Wade are based on any movie versions.
