(Uther, desperately lonely after sending Arthur away to become a knight, manipulates Balinor into giving him Merlin to keep as his pet dragonlord. Balinor, furious at having been tricked a second time, joins a rising resistance to Uther's rule. Arthur is relieved when Balinor the Dragonlord agrees to help, but dismayed when he refuses to come back to Camelot. Instead, Arthur is stuck waiting in the middle of nowhere while Balinor calls the dragon. To make matters worse, Arthur’s idiot manservant clearly has a massive crush on the guy: despite him being a grumpy, straggly, cave-dwelling sorcerer, who makes terrible cabbage pottage, Merlin hasn’t taken his eyes off him! Arthur will tolerate this nonsense for a couple of days, but only because he must save Camelot.

Arthur agreed to the druids' binding ritual, desperate to end the war between their peoples. He does not regret his decision, especially when Emrys turns out to be a very attractive, sharp-tongued, and witty young man.
He regrets it very briefly when Emrys tries to kill him, but they get over that hiccup quickly.
Arthur absolutely does not regret the amount of pleasure he can extract from Emrys’s body before the night is over.
