He immediately put the guitar down and was by her side in a flash, “Hey, Park, what’s wrong?” He instinctively pulled her into his arms.

A series that started with a small ficlet by the same name (The Demon's Progress). An innocent request for a tiny bit more elaboration lead to a Cloverfield-sized plot bunny. In spite of his attempts at moderation, Spock felt his pulse speed up. “Regulation 1138b. This is... the regulation pertaining to relationships within the direct chain of command. The amendment you are referring to specifically prevented those in command from entering into relationships with those immediately under them in the command chain, for fear of compromising the integrity of the command team.” Spock recited this numbly, unable to think properly around the emotions now writhing beneath his skin. Because... Jim couldn’t be implying...?
He swallowed, his mouth inexplicably very dry. A strange warmth was spreading throughout his limbs, and his head felt terribly light. He was very suddenly quite certain that the contact between his and the Admiral’s hands was highly dangerous. He could not bring himself to terminate it.

Summary
Diverging from Kirk and Spock's first meeting in SNW 2x06 'Lost in Translation', Spock and Jim begin an affair that is the definition of wrong-place, wrong-time.
Episodic series split broadly into phases.
Phase 1 (stories 1-6) covers the back-half of SNW S2 and can be read in any order. Kirk meets Spock, sparks fly, songs are sung, and yeomen are involved.
Phase 2 (7-10) onward covers Hegemony and the aftermath and should be read in order. A daring rescue, some ill-advised surgery, a trip to Risa, a new enemy.
Phase 3 - (11-14) revenge is a dish best served at a formal gala, and the aftermath.Featuring sweeping romance, sex farce, screwball comedy, hot hot sex, a lot of singing, Vulcan pop groups, gardening in space, the inevitability and impact of gossip and a hell of a lot of allegories...plus a supporting cast of dozens of absolutely ridiculous OCs.
