Summary
Yoyle City is a peaceful place.

It was cold in the Place; cold and bright. The lights were harsh, so much so that if Newt looked near one, it almost burned. Not that he could see much anyway; his glasses were gone, his vision painfully blurry, like he was ten years old and glasses-less again. The bridge of his nose was uncomfortably chilled, absent of the familiar weight of his classic Geiszlerian nerd-chic specs. It was mildly awful; he had a headache, and even worse, he was stuck in some kind of chair, arms and legs firmly cuffed to it. He couldn’t move his wrists, and they hurt; at one point he must have rubbed them raw on accident. His left arm was stretched over a much higher elongated arm of the chair, and an IV was stuck into his elbow. Little raised cigarette-burn-like marks were dotted around the vein, as if the IV had been violently yanked out multiple times.

Post Scunner's-death, Hermann attempts to do what he failed before - keep Newton safe, help him feel sane. To do this, he feels he must at least pretend to be alright. He fails at that, too.
In the aftermath, Newt stays awake for 4 days, terrified of sleep.

In an alternate turn of events, Pencil is not able to be added to TPOT no matter how many strings are being pulled behind the scenes. Instead, it is Match who ends up joining in her place. After consequently being banished out into the storm, Pencil winds up in the Pillary Ruins, a strange place that is filled with familiar people, but they aren't happy at all to see her. In fact, they insist that she needs to "redeem herself" if she ever really wants to belong as one of them. But how can she possibly do that when she's never done anything wrong in her entire life?
(AKA: A fanfic in which Pencil is forced to reflect on her past mistakes, learn how she can change for the better, and in the process ends up realizing that there is someone in the post-split cast who is more like her than she previously thought.)

A very small child, from the looks of it. The child themself looks gaunt and deathly pale, the strange clothes practically hanging off their stick-thin frame.
