New Ninjago City has been working hard to improve itself. For one, projects to work together with the Serpentine are going well. For another, it's wanting to learn to handle disasters better, without the Ninja or Samurai X having to step in every single time. The Ninja vary a bit in how they cope with this new free time, but it helps Lloyd when he finds his old childhood friend.
When a weird cult suddenly rises in popularity, with members starting to turn to violence, it's hard to resist the urge to just step in. And then with all of this stuff with prophecies and weird memories blocked then coming back, and then a figure with dark powers who's somehow involved with intentions unclear. Really, how can any of them be expected to stay out of this?

He’d stared at him momentarily, looking Petey over.
“I-in cat years.”
He nods, something in his eyes shifting from professional to something a little softer. Then he continued to type into his computer.
Petey’s grip on his tail grew a little tighter.Or: Petey sort of had a hunch Grace's illness was hereditary, but the confirmation in the form of his own diagnoses is harder to handle then he'd expected.
