Summary
After the Éothéod revolt against the Wainriders, the northern tribes seek to form strong alliances with their neighbors. Lord Frumgar tasks his son Fram to lead the delegation to Imladris. With him, he brings gold, fine horses, and two young thralls chosen by his father to be given to Lord Elrond himself. Elrond is conflicted to say the least.
Regardless, an alliance must be struck. Prince Fram brings news of darkness spreading across Rhovanion which is already leaking up into Greenwood. Elrond fears it will soon reach Imladris. Once more, Elves and Men must put aside their differences and unite...or fall.

When bookworm Hazel Lee finds out that her friends have all somehow ditched her on their winter retreat to her Uncle's cabin in the Colorado Rockies, she thinks that she's going to be in for 6 weeks of tea, books, snowy hikes, and some well deserved peace and quiet. What she doesn't expect is for a pair of fantasy characters with darks pasts to find their way to her cabin and throw all her plans for peace (and definitions of reality) into a tailspin.
Before she knows it, a certain Balrog slayer with a bone to pick with Feanorians makes an entrance.
If that wasn't bad enough, the Fellowship of the Ring decides to come knocking and Hazel is about ready to throw in the towel.
Will Hazel be able to prevent a fourth Kinslaying?
Will she manage to keep the future separate from the past?
And most importantly... will she be able to feed four hungry hobbits?A.K.A. I've been writing too much angst and I needed some humor. This is pure fun. Expect it to get absurd.

It's been years since Zuko became the Fire Lord, and he's spent a lot of time trying to be a better person. Still brooding, at least he's more calm, self-reflective, and isn't actively trying to destroy the world.
Barley (OC), on the other hand, is an outsider, and has done no self-reflecting nor does she have the desire to. She's angry and brazen and her plans usually consists of: fight now, think later.
Which is exactly how she winds up in prison, and then in Zuko's care.
When they meet, it's like gas to a flame, a forest of dead leaves set ablaze, like a fire to a field of grain.

Since the end of Hundred Years War seven years ago, Fire Lord Zuko has been isolated in the Fire Palace, fending off assassinations and mending the Fire Nation, all while putting off the Fire Sages' demands that he take a wife. When Iroh finally finds him a match to restore relations with the Old Colonies, he reluctantly agrees to the marriage, with the expectation of never speaking to her again and sending her off to Ember Island.
It proves to be more difficult than he expects though, when he realizes that his new wife is as stubborn as a dragon moose.

Taking place after the battle in Republic City against the Denied.
While the Gaang puts out fires and provides disaster relief across Republic City, Zuko immediately ventures into the city to find any of the scattered Denied members. Some of them have remained behind, one of them even having turned in the midst of battle. But not all of the Denied have learned from their mistakes, and another incident like this can't happen again. Who better to hunt down the runaways than the man who repeatedly found the Avatar?
Before he gets far on his search though, he follows a glowing white light that leads not to the Denied, but to a mysterious figure who appears to be injured. And not of this world. Who is she? And is she someone they can trust?
