Leo waited. His leg was growing painfully numb under the ice. He wanted to rip the pack off and heave it across the room where it could shatter on the floor. Instead, he forced himself to stay quiet as he watched everyone disperse on their assignments, feeling his heartbeat inexplicably rise in his chest until he finally couldn’t stand it anymore.
“And me?” Leo looked to Splinter. “I know portaling is kinda off the table right now, but, you know, plans are still kinda my thing. Just give me a minute—an hour max—and I know I can come up with a place for us to stay...” Leo’s voice faded as Splinter placed a warm pink hand on top of his own, making it lay still.
“Do not worry, my baby blue.” He said, giving the back of his hand a pat, a soft smile reaching his furry face. “I know exactly where we will go.”

Leo knew losing an arm would be a hard change. He just didn’t know exactly how many changes he'd have to deal with. Turns out that narrowly avoiding the Krang apocalypse doesn't mean everything goes back to normal.
(Or my traumatized turtle boys spend some time recovering in the countryside because the author was listening to Noah Kahan’s Stick Season album A LOT)

"What 'injury'?" Leo echoed stepping forward again and furrowing his brow as he inspected the arm Donnie held out. Careful partial roll of the sleeve. "Why the hell didn't you tell me? And why isn't it bandaged?"
"It was a minor burn." Donnie said, and it felt like his throat was scorched and burned with how hard it was to speak. "I ran it under cold water. It wasn't a big deal."

Summary
Donnie collided with Leo in a tangle of limbs. There was an instinctive cling in return from his twin, before the realization sunk in.
"No." Leo breathed in his ear, immediately shattered. "No, no, no, no, no!”
Every muscle in Donnie's body was shaking like an earthquake from the amount of effort he'd just expended. The explosion caught up to them, sending the twins spiralling away into space and debris.
For one singular moment, Donnie allowed himself a burst of victory. His heart was still thudding a thousand miles an hour in his chest, having been absolutely terrified he wasn't going to make it in time. But he did. And he held onto Leo, his prize.
Then they hit the ground, the sudden tumble bursting them apart. Donnie felt the world spin, rapid and disorientating, before he slammed into something rock and cracking under his impact.

The turtles victory over Shredder was glorious. Everything that came after was much less so.
And Donatello quickly finds that dealing with the loss of their home isn't the only problem on hand. His mystic powers, which he fully developed in less than an hour for a big fight, are starting to go haywire. He's not only discovering abilities he never knew he had, but all of them are acting in a way he hasn't learned to control.
He needs to get a lid on them before they get worse.

Samantha was one of the younger reporters, barely thirty. So she’d recognized Lou Jitsu from his TV shows she had watched growing up when she had seen him walking around the mall last weekend.
He had gotten a good deal shorter, and his now gray hair was thrown up in some sort of bun at the top of his head. He was wearing a robe, and had one shopping bag hanging from the crook of his elbow. The writing on the side of the bag boldly stated it was from ‘Urban Outfitters’, though Sam wasn’t really sure what he would have been buying from there. He’d been very different from his actor days, back when he was a black haired, long limbed star with a bold sense of style. It was no wonder no one in the mall had recognized him.

OR- Splinter does an interview, it ends up going... interestingly.
(Inspired by that one video where the guy's kids come into his office in the middle of a live interview).
