The moments we live make us who we are. The moments we choose to learn from make our future. Mako deals with injury, work, danger, trauma, heartbreak, emotions, remembrances, and other such moments in life as he slowly finds his purpose and destination.
Mako-centric chronological vignette series, post-Book 4. Essentially, the story of Mako's life, told in moments. Starts off rather angsty, but it gets better. Korrasami is acknowledged and respected, but Makorra is endgame.

This series would be a tribute to Makoh (or Makroh or anything Iroh II/Mako), a crackship that I shipped back in 2013 but gave up because there weren't enough fanfiction, and I wasn't good enough at English back then to write some myself.
Now that I'm falling back in love with them again, I'd like to write something to make up for that.

So many deaths in the family. Iroh, Azulon,” She flips her hand over, and catches the dagger by the handle, “And now Ursa’s gone too.”
Zuko gaped at his sister with an open mouth. He’d never heard Azula say their mother’s name. She said it like an insult. And he never wanted to hear it again.

In the distance a siren starts to wail.Bolin and Mako are separated as children. Bolin is raised by the Air Temple family. Mako becomes a crime lord, running Republic City's vice district with Asami, Wu, and Ginger. Everything changes when the Avatar arrives.

Summary
It's over. Kuvira's army has been defeated, the Great Uniter herself imprisoned awaiting trial. In the aftermath of the destruction, nearly everyone seems eager to move on. Rebuild. Reconcile. But for some, there is precious little to come back to. Forced into yet another humiliating defeat, General Iroh is put on administrative leave to deal with what he calls "some disappointment" and what everyone else calls "burning down half your own camp in a terrifying rage." There he reconnects with Mako, a burned-out (literally) detective trying to decide if surviving the battle with Kuvira was a good thing after all. A story of friendship, finding meaning, and getting accidentally stuck in the spirit world perhaps indefinitely. Oops.
