Ed had all but screamed at Stede who recoiled at the sound of it. A moment of hesitation before a look of clarity washed over Stede’s features, turning him pale. Then:
“How much do you know?”

But as Stede reached the edge of the deck, gripped the railing with such a tight grip that his knuckles went white and his hands shook, he could tell that this time the stars wouldn’t help. In fact, being outside on his own probably made it worse. Stede gasped for air, sobs erupting up and out of his already sore chest, and he could do nothing but hold onto the railing and cry.
He felt like a child, and whenever he felt like a child, he thought of his father.
“A weak-hearted, soft-handed, lily-livered little rich boy. That’s all you’ll ever be.”
He was right, annoyingly and embarrassingly so. If his father could see him now he’d just be disappointed. Ashamed. Regretful.
What had he become?

Summary
Stede is exactly where he left him, right in the middle of the room, frozen by the crackling fire.
After a moment of studying him, Ed says, “Stede,” softly, and closes the door, and Stede jumps. “Sorry.”
“No, it’s alright,” Stede replies. His eyes flicker over the place Ned had fallen, then lift to Ed when he turns. Landing on the first aid kit, he asks, “Should I— Would you like me to do your chest first?”
“Your throat’s still bleeding,” Ed tells him, and doesn’t add, ‘And your chest is still smoldering, and your face is still cut open, and I can still taste your burnt flesh in the back of my throat, and I can still see his lips on yours, and if I can’t put you back together with my own hands, I think I might just fall apart, too.’
He doesn’t add it, but he doesn’t need to. Stede hears the words even when left unspoken.

Summary
For the kink meme prompt: Ed/Stede, Ned Low, fuck or die. What it says on the tin, really. Maybe Ned wants to see if the rumors are true. Maybe he recognizes the captain's cabin is set for a night of romance and he'd hate to ruin their plans. But either way, he gives Ed and Stede an ultimatum: fuck or die. (Doesn't have to be die if you think another threat is more likely to get them to choose "fuck.")
This isn't a sexy fic, at least as far as the prompt is concerned. Ned makes sure the fucking is traumatic, but there's a happy ending, and plenty of talking and comfort and eventual consensual smut

Summary
“Like a mermaid. Or a merman. Or a merperson.”
As soon as the words had left Ed’s mouth, they’d slammed into Stede with such force that he couldn’t help smiling. It’s the best he’s felt— ever, maybe, when someone was talking to him, and he doesn’t even have the words for why. Hearing Ed describe him in his vision this way— it really just felt like he saw him. Moreso, even, than the first time Ed met him— Stede felt seen, felt perceived, felt— felt known.
“Wow,” Stede had breathed, and he still remembers the surging bolts of incredible, burning feeling that had coursed through him as he processed it all. Merperson. Person. Just a person. He really couldn’t suppress his smile; it had been years in coming. “How’d I look?”

Summary
Stede’s head snaps to the side, and Ed screams at them, “Don’t you fucking touch him, don’t you fucking dare,” tearing at his wrists, straining against the ropes until his skin burns, but he still can’t get out.
Tears drip down from Stede’s eyes beneath the blindfold, his chest hitching. He rolls his shoulders, tipping his head back to center, then spits out a mouthful of blood onto the packed earth ground beneath.
After a beat, he lifts his head, still blindfolded, face tipped in the direction of the man even without seeing him.
“That won’t bring Blackbeard here,” Stede tells him, chin lifted. “I can take it.”
“Hit him again,” the man says, and the woman does, her fist coming into Stede’s face with a crack. “Again. Hit him harder.”

“What’s it say?” Wee John asks. “Is it bad?”
“That’s the Captain,” Jim says. “It says ‘torture show’ above it, right there. Pointing down the path.”
The crew goes silent. Ed’s motionless for only a moment.

“Stede,” Ed breathes from above, barely audible for a moment. His next call of, “Stede!” is louder, and then he’s starting to shove himself down through the hole.
Next to Stede, all the debris starts to move again, a dreadful groan as it leans forward over Stede’s head. He shrieks without meaning to, a wordless scream, both from the increased pain of the wood on his body and from the terror of seeing it fall forward onto his head.
“No, no, stop!” Stede panics upwards. “Ed, stop, it’s going to collapse on me— Ed, please!”

Stede is halfway down the beach, and there’s only two guys left between them (he’s close, so close after almost four months) when the one closest to him fires his gun and Stede’s left leg explodes into sheer agony.
Stede doesn’t even register his knees folding or hitting the sand; the next thing he’s aware of is seeing the guy run towards him with this sword drawn.
Not like this. Not when I’m so close, Stede’s terrified heart squeaks.
/ or: Stede gets hurt fighting his way back to Ed. Ed, still grieving their break-up, takes care of him

With another deep breath, Stede strokes his thumb along Ed’s hairline. He frowns a bit himself at the warm flush of his skin, a higher temperature than normal.
His voice held soft, he says, “Good morning, love.”
Ed groans, tilting his face back into Stede’s belly, curling up tighter around him.
“How are you feeling?” Stede asks him.
Ed grunts into his stomach.
“I thought maybe you might be,” Stede comments. He keeps threading his fingers through Ed’s hair, smooth, slow, steady. “You should go back to sleep. Let me make you some tea or something for when you wake up again, how does that sound, Ed, darling?”
Ed lifts his head, blearily meeting Stede’s eyes for only a brief moment before he’s scrambling towards the edge of the bed and retching over the side onto the floor.

Without another thought, Crowley ran out of the bar he had been so comfortably situated in.

Stakes get higher, trouble brews, and Crowley has to break into Heaven, again, to find out the truth.
