Summary
Everything was loud. So, so loud. Blaring, bright, reaching out and grabbing at him, clawing at him, hammering into his every sense. Standing was too much, but he could feel the dull thud of the ground under him as he sat, knees pulled to chest. His eyes were clenched closed, palms forced against the sockets, trying hopelessly to block out the flood of all that kept coming. His sunglasses had been disregarded a while ago, thrown down in frustration onto the floor next to him. They weren’t helping. It felt like nothing he could do would help. No amount of stillness he tried to impose on himself would still the world around him.
During times like these, Satoru Gojo hated his strength. He hated the Six Eyes and their perception. He wished he was blind, wished he could never see anything again if it meant this would go away.

Or; sometimes, the Six Eyes is too much for Gojo to handle. But Geto wants to help him however he can.

He tried to straighten, to step away, to do anything at all but his body simply didn’t listen.

Tim should say something else, anything else. He should say that he was fine, maybe even remark on the weather if that was what it took to stop just repeating Bruce’s name again and again as if he’s just some child constantly trying to get his Dad’s attention.
He needed to say something else.

It was such a stupid sentence it almost worked on principle alone.
Static, nausea, bright crescents of nothing—a blind spot opens in the center of Dazai’s world; Chuuya narrates the dark like a lifeline.

When he thinks back on it now, what Dazai remembers the most is how listless he was. He hadn’t cried. He hadn’t felt anything. It had felt more like following a line of thought to its natural conclusion—what happens if I do this?
He remembers the sensation registering dimly, more pressure than pain at first, and the strange disappointment when it didn’t immediately turn into something bigger, something clarifying. He remembers the blood, too, sticky and warm and everywhere.
The adults around him had panicked in a way that made no sense to him, voices rising, hands shaking, someone yelling his name like it mattered. Dazai had watched it all from a careful distance, mildly confused by the urgency, wondering why this was what finally made them react.
or: Rain makes it worse. The migraines leave Dazai half-blind, nauseous, and barely verbal. Chuuya comes to yell at him and instead finds something he wasn’t supposed to see.

Dazai’s lips twitch. “Doesn’t Chuuya have anything for me to bite on?”
Chuuya pauses despite himself. “…I thought that,” he starts, then stops. He clears his throat, eyes flicking briefly to the floor before coming back to Dazai’s face. “Because of Dostoyevsky. I thought maybe—”
Dazai waves one hand dismissively, the motion weak but sharp with irritation. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because that holier-than-thou demon’s been leaving me gagged for days, you think I wouldn’t want anything in my mouth.”
He grins when he says it. It’s a perfect imitation—angle of the mouth, familiar lilt—but his eyes are flat, glassy in a way that has nothing to do with humor. “I don’t,” he adds. Then, after a beat: “I also don’t want Chuuya to hear me scream.”
or: dazai gets kidnapped and tortured. chuuya gets him back, and realizes that care is just another kind of exposure. the kiss might be a mistake. or it might not. it’s also inevitable.
