He dropped everything, rushing to the hospital Leon was being airlifted to, his heart pounding in his chest.

“Look, this is a peak performance for me right now,” Leon growled out, his voice catching in his throat as he continued to keep Chris covered. “I'm working with questionable optimism. Save the critiques, keep your head high, and shoot!”
Chris remained focused on the target, unaware of the internal battle Leon was fighting. With the weapon leveled and firing, Chris's firm grip stayed clamped on Leon's shoulder, keeping him anchored safely underneath him.
A confusing, aggressive heat started pooling in Chris's veins—his own alpha blood demanding he secure and comfort his teammate.
