“I’m just saying you might want the option of going outside,” Shane said, dropping a kiss on Ilya’s shoulder and wandering into the closet.
Ilya was obviously going to pack clothing, he just had priorities. Like making sure their whole sex toy collection would fit into his suitcase, not to mention two of the biggest bottles of lube he’d been able to find.
“Take the batteries out of anything that vibrates,” Shane called. Ilya rolled his eyes. What was he, an amateur? “Do you think I should bring two pairs of walking shoes or is one enough?”
“How many walking tours are we going on?”
“I don’t know.”
“How do you not know? What have you been doing for the past month?”
“Research! But I didn’t book anything yet in case we decide we want to just sit by the pool for ten days instead.”

Summary
I’m really bad at summaries, but basically this takes place after Tuna Melt Gate. Shane and Ilya are still denying themselves any chance at happiness and refusing to admit how they really feel about each other. Everything is canon up until that point, but afterward Ilya falls into a really dark place and almost follows the same path as his mother. (Nothing graphic is described, but please take care of yourselves.)
Before that future can happen, their children somehow travel back in time and show up on Ilya’s doorstep, terrified and desperate to stop it. While Shane and Ilya are trying to figure out how these kids even exist, it slowly becomes clear that the future they come from seemed like one of those fantasies that you felt wouldn't come true lucky for them this isn't the case :)

He moved to swing his legs out from under the blankets, only to feel one of them get snagged on something: Ilya’s ankle was wrapped around his own, knee pressing into Shane’s thigh. When he tried to wriggle it free, his boyfriend resisted and pulled his leg in closer. A taut arm reached out and sleepily tugged Shane back down onto the mattress. He gave in easily.
“I thought you were asleep.” Shane whispered, tersely.
He felt a small stab of irritation too. Once again, Ilya had gotten in the way of his workout routine and — even though he wasn’t doing it on purpose — it was hard not to be frustrated about it. Shane needed this. The only way he had been able to soothe his racing thoughts about flunking out of the NHL next season was by reminding himself of his plan to work out early in the morning. Now, his anxiety soared, but it felt like annoyance. Why didn’t Ilya understand that he needed to stay in shape? Didn’t he see how hard Shane had to work to keep up with everyone else?
“I woke up.” Ilya’s voice was husky with sleep, “Come back to bed, moya lyubov.”
