Summary
welcome to my alive gabriel goodman au!
everything's pretty similar to the n2n canon (with the london cast in mind), except that gabe survives. diana and dan managed to find doctors that caught the obstruction in time to save gabe's life, but not quick enough to leave him entirely unscatched. gabe struggles with chronic illness symptoms daily, including extreme abdominal pain, low blood pressure, headaches and migraines, dizziness, shakiness, etc. which in turn leads to the canon of natalie being left out by her parents often.
natalie is born, not to replace gabe this time, and they're the best siblings. henry is still your lovable stoner. dan still struggles with ignoring gabe sometimes and dealing with his son. diana still struggles with bipolar.
this will mostly just be a bunch of oneshots surrounding the characters in this universe! hope you enjoy <3

“It’s nothing. It was part of a treatment this ‘doctor’ my father called had, for my reading…” Wylan makes a small, unspecific gesture with an awkward smile. The silence that hangs is thick.

Hearing it from Buck makes it real, solidified, no longer a shapeless fantasy in his head.

Buck peels Eddie's pomegranates, carves out the brown spots from his apples, eats the ugly, discolored fruit. Eddie wants to propose, spirals, and crashes a car about it.

He doesn’t pay them much mind, though, his attention focused intently on Eddie—there’s an unreadable expression on his face. That doesn’t happen often. Buck’s spent years learning the language of Eddie Diaz, becoming fluent in every single look and expression Eddie could throw at him.
He doesn’t know this one.
“You like tulips?” Buck asks.
Eddie almost jumps out of his skin, startled—apparently so deep in thought he’d forgotten Buck was next to him. “Sure. Uh—They’re nice.”
Eddie’s cheeks flush a soft pink, his hands tightening on the handles of the reusable fabric bags as he shrugs a shoulder, attempting to take another step to continue on their travels through the market.
Buck ignores the instinct telling him to let it go, like he often does.

Summary
Leaning toward the mirror, [Buck] shoots himself a wide, sleepy smile just as the bathroom door creaks open. He flinches back, one hand gripping the edge of the sink to keep himself upright while the other flies up to catch the door.
It’s just Eddie, and Buck opens his mouth to say hey, it’s ok, go back to bed, but the words die on his tongue as he spots the fear in Eddie’s eyes. It’s quick, there and gone before Buck can really react, replaced by relief that Buck barely registers before Eddie is slotting himself against Buck’s chest and tucking his face under Buck’s chin.
OR
Buck has a weird dream, Eddie has a nightmare, and for some reason this helps them figure it out.

The moment Eddie put the truck in drive and drove away from South Bedford street, away from Buck, the anxiety started. He was going for Christopher, his son, his entire life, the reason why he woke up everyone morning and got out of bed. If he didn’t fix his relationship with Chris, he didn’t know what he was going to do. So he was leaving his entire life behind, more importantly, he was leaving Buck.
