Summary
"I'm not sure what I'd have done."
"And I didn't want to put you in that position.”For better or for worse, Arthur knows Merlin's secret. The problem? Merlin doesn't know Arthur knows. This leaves Arthur with a predicament... and an opportunity. A test. Three trials and three opportunities for Merlin to prove he doesn't deserve death. Arthur hopes he will pass them. Maybe then the image of Merlin's golden eyes will stop haunting him.
Merlin opened his mouth. A noise unlike any sound Arthur had ever heard escaped from it. Loud and rumbling and guttural, inhuman, and in no way, shape, or form could actually be coming from his manservant.
But it was. And Merlin was speaking.
"O drakon, e male so ftengometta tesd'hup'anankes! Erkheo!"
For a minute, there was complete silence—a silence in which Arthur just stared from behind a tree in an incomprehensive daze.
But then there was a sound. Both loud and forceful and... familiar.
The sound of flapping wings.
AKA an in-depth character study of Arthur. I do not endorse Arthur's actions, but this is what I think he'd do in canon. This was my season 3 prediction!

Summary
“It’s all talk, Merlin, and that’s all it can ever be.” He breathed out, suddenly losing the fire that had just been blazing in him.
Merlin took another step toward him. “When you’re King, you can change that.”

Took a stab at rewriting bits of series 2 episode 4 "Lancelot and Guinevere" to make it a merthur love confession.

Summary
It never got dark here in the future, and he could never see the stars. Arthur missed the dark—was that stupid, considering the thousands of years he had apparently spent in it?
Arthur returns from the dead: lost, traumatized, and out of his depth. Not even Merlin is familiar anymore.

Summary
Prince Arthur did not intend to bring Merlin on patrol, he didn’t even know his manservant could ride a horse. But he can’t say no to that grin, not when Merlin has gone and packed and saddled up a horse for himself without asking. It’s a dull, routine patrol along the border, almost a formality at this point. Even if magic is legal in Escetir, they’ve held a shaky peace treaty with Camelot for over a decade; it’s unlikely they’ll see any danger.
But what Arthur does not know is that the recent spike in deaths of magical creatures in Camelot has not gone unnoticed. There are whispers that King Uther is a liar and a hypocrite, now secretly rebuilding his magical defence. And to bring sorcery to the border - well now, that would be an act of aggression tantamount to declaring war.

Summary
Arthur Pendragon's life has been a slow downward spiral ever since he grew sick of working for his father at Pendragon Publishing. His job is boring, he's pushing people away, he's drinking too much and to top it all off, the coffee shop he's been going to for a decade is closing. But perhaps the eccentric young brunet at his new routine coffee place, with his shimmery blue eyes and paint-streaked face, is just the person to kickstart Arthur's humdrum life. As it turns out, Merlin's got baggage of his own.

Summary
BBC Merlin but not like you know it.
A role reversal.
What if not having magic was illegal?
What if Merlin was the prince instead of Arthur?
What if Arthur was Merlin’s manservant?
How would all of this change the story that we all know and love.
***
“How do I know I can trust you,” Arthur narrowed his eyes.
“I guess you don’t,” the man grinned, his tone of voice verging on irritating. “You will just have to trust me.”
“That sounds like a mistake.”
“More than this?” the man gestured to the stocks. Arthur could feel something slimy sliding down his forehead threatening to drip into his eye. The man removing this delicately, the tips of his fingers caressing Arthur’s skin in the process. The pair staring at each other for an intense second. Arthur’s heart squeezing in his chest though he didn’t know why. There was something about this man, something that was familiar but so new at the same time. It had been a long day, that was all.
“Fair enough,” Arthur sighed moving his head to the side to allow the man’s hand to fall away that had been lingering. “I err…Might have punched Prince Mordred.”Series

Summary
Arthur had not died on the shores of the Lake of Avalon that day, as Merlin held him gently, terrified of letting him go. He could vaguely remember the emotions carved onto Merlin’s face, grief and desperation, as the dragon had loomed above them, and could just about remember asking Merlin to hold him as he slipped away.
He could distinctly remember surviving.
Or: Arthur Pendragon looked his destiny in the eye and told it, in no uncertain terms, that it could go to hell.

Summary
A hunting trip gone wrong, fifty pieces of gold exchanged, and Prince Arthur of Camelot suddenly finds himself a slave in the mines of Andor, stripped of his clothes as much as his title and dignity. But Arthur refuses to submit and Merlin, a slave since his late childhood, soon finds himself getting closer to the latest arrival in Master Ragnor's camp than he might have liked. With his magic controlled by a collar, Merlin has learned the hard way it is better to be obedient than punished. Survival means keeping your head down, something Arthur might just need to learn the hard way, too. Is escape even an option?

Summary
Merlin defeated the creature easily. He turned away from his fallen foe and back to the boulder blockade he'd trapped Arthur behind. Too late, Merlin saw the King had found his own way out. He had seen... everything.
Arthur didn't look angry. He didn't even seem surprised. Just... hurt. Merlin froze when he saw that Arthur was crying. The King hadn't seemed to notice it yet, his eyes lost and face void of emotion, but tear tracks lined his dust-coated cheeks. Arthur didn't cry. It was a rule he rarely disobeyed, his motto, "No man is worth your tears." It took Merlin a second to understand, but he wasn't angry... he was heartbroken.
Arthur discovers Merlin's magic. Realising that nearly everyone close to him has betrayed him, Arthur blames himself and obsesses over being a perfect king. He finally taps into his potential, follows his beliefs, and becomes the man that he was meant to be. Arthur also discovers he's not what he thought he was and begins keeping secrets of his own. Meanwhile, Merlin repents for his mistakes and learns about Arthur's past. What is Arthur hiding? Can Merlin win back Arthur's trust? Who and what is Arthur Pendragon, really?

Summary
A series of oneshots written for every episode of BBC Merlin as I rewatch it. This series has been on hiatus for more than a year so I'm happy to announce that it no longer is! I will however not post regularly, except for probably these last few months of 2022 because it's the 10th anniversary since s5 aired and I'll most likely be rewatching it and probably writing fics for it too. (And yes, that means I'm skipping the rest of s2, s3 and s4, but I'll get back to them later.) I haven't seen s5 since it aired, but I think a decade of waiting has been enough, so let's celebrate the anniversary :D

Summary
The dragon leaned forward. "Your destiny is to protect Uther Pendragon's heir, the one who will be the Once and Future King and unite all of Albion."
Merlin blinked. "But . . . Uther doesn't have an heir."
. . .
In many Arthurian texts, Arthur is raised as a peasant by Sir Ector with no knowledge of his royal lineage. Let's bring that back, shall we?

Summary
“And have you,” Merlin starts, his voice drawing Arthur’s gaze back to him, inevitable. Merlin licks his lips, his eyes intent and wary on Arthur’s face. “Have you changed your mind about walking away?”
Arthur feels like he’s balancing on a precipice, and a part of him wants to move back to safety. The other wants to see what happens if he jumps.
He feels like he’s getting better at the whole jumping bit.
Arthur's life is going alright; he finally got his feet back underneath him after his father died a year ago, his friends are great, and he loves his work as a journalist. That is, until he gets assigned to write an article for pride month, together with Merlin of all people. Merlin, who he usually does his best to avoid, at work and within their group of friends both. Merlin who, unlike Arthur, is out and proud as bi. Merlin, who is exactly Arthur's type.
It's fine, though. Arthur can write an article about the queer history of England, and he can write it with Merlin, too. Nothing has to change.

Summary
The wind changed.
There was something unright about the black wolf. Golden-eyed, whip-thin. Too long of snout and limb. Among the trees, he might have been a shadow thrown by a wholly different creature–or, from the angle of the light, by Arthur himself.
Arthur had never seen him; Arthur knew him. It couldn't be, and wouldn't be beneath the sun. But it was Wolf Moon now, and Arthur's pack was somewhere in the woods, going on without him, while Arthur stood frozen as a deer, naked paws on the leaf litter, naked fur beneath the white moon, too exposed away from the safety of the brush–because he was a fool who charged in, because he was the apex predator in these woods, until he wasn't.
As prince of the Camelot wolf pack, Arthur has fought his entire life to be worthy of his title and his father's pride. When he meets a strange wolf with a too-familiar scent on the first full moon of the new year, he must decide what's really worth fighting for.
