    “You-- I’m--?” Mariana stuttered, failing to properly articulate his thoughts. Since when was he a criminal?
    He got a laugh in response and an unexpected pat on the back. “I’m surprised you haven’t seen your poster yet! They're almost everywhere now,” The alleged criminal expressed, beginning to walk, still with his hand on Mariana’s back, forcing them to move together. “Honestly, I think they did you dirty. All the drawings people have made may be nice, but they don’t seem to actually live up to the man himself.”

    When Prince Mariana flees from the castle, he realizes just how many obstacles are in his way, keeping him from truly being free. Guardsmen, bounty hunters--you name it.

    Charlie is silent as he soaks in her words. After a few minutes he replies slowly. “Flippa… you didn’t have to do that. You should worry about what you want, not what I need. That’s my job, worrying about you .” He tucks her in some more as she looks up at him with large, knowing eyes. “I’m going to do my best to take care of you. Annoying Mariana comes second. I swear it.” Flippa swats at him lightly which he laughs at.

    “But seriously. I will. I’ll… always be here for you.” She smiles at him as he stands and moves to blow out the torch next to her bed. “Goodnight, Juanaflippa.” Charlie says softly as he closes the door behind him and takes in a deep breath.

    Bright yellow eyes, white bone shielding its face like an external skull and a head as large as an elephant’s. Missa sucked in a breath, fumbled for his weapon. Phil centered the dragon in the crosshairs, finger on the trigger, and Tallulah reached up to wrap her arms around the monster’s muzzle, leaning halfway over the water.

    Phil swore. He braced himself for violence, the deceptively quick change from living child into gutted mess, but it never came. Tallulah pulled back and said, Spanish blurring to familiar syllables, “Bobby, this is Chayanne. I told you he’s real.”

    Roier cree haber resuelto lo que sucedió en la escuela de su hijo, pero tiene la mala suerte de que el padre de aquel niño sea su nuevo compañero de trabajo, un apuesto cirujano de trauma que lo hará enloquecer por su pedante personalidad.
