Summary

Victor didn't speak until he was about four.
He didn't talk until about four, and even after he started learning words and the fact he had to verbalize them, he still kept quiet.
He's not particularly sure, but his potentially first full, audible spoken sentence might've been at about seven.
Victor was supposed to be bunch of organs to sell, not a even bat, or kid, and certainly not a person.
So he definitely was never meant to talk.
That’s also probably why the first time he chirps in front of the rest of the Z-Team the first time, he slams his hand on his own snout.

It had been a short chapter -really only a few pages long- and Obi-Wan had always assumed that it was rare since that’s what the text had hinted out when they’d been explaining things.
Some of Stewjon’s citizens have evolved vocal cords that allow them to make noises that would otherwise be impossible for those of a different species. Things like a chirp, purr, or even a trill can be a sign of many things. Although rare, these involuntary signs can have many meanings…
Still, Obi-Wan hadn't been expecting his own men to be the ones to draw the noise out of him.
Or snapshots into Obi-Wan and the 212th Attack Batallion's day-to-day life, culminating in them finding each other through a series of slightly mortifying, definitely embarrassing, noises that escape Obi-Wan's mouth when he's excited or turned on.

Keigo's tongue felt like it had turned to lead. "Um, uh, what?" he laughed, trying to shrug it off, but Dabi wasn't stupid.
"This little flirting game we've been playing. Or do you want me to chase you?"
Keigo choked on his own spit.The thing was, he (somehow) liked Dabi. And he'd stupidly been flirting with a villain for weeks now, and it was probably stupid to assume nothing would happen. Except he'd never dated anyone, let alone held someone's hand, or even had a crush. The Commission taught him ways to act, not how to deal with personal feelings. He is naturally terrible at expressing his personal feelings.

Raph growled again and attempted to pull away- he didn't need to be treated as if he was made of glass, he was tough, he was the brawn, he- his knees buckled.
The oldest caught him before he could fall, then carefully lowered him onto the floor. "I got you." He whispered. "I got you."

After a nightmare about the eldest brother sacrificing himself wakes him up in a panic, Raph can't admit to himself that maybe, he should seek comfort before he wakes up everyone else.

April has always been aware that her honorary brothers were turtles, but only truly remembers this when they each display their own turtle habits that link close to their original species.
TLDR: Each time April sees each of the boys display a turtle instinct/behaviour and how she deals with it.

Chosen began to preen them, fixing each feather carefully as he did. He dug his talons into the very roots to unsheathe the pin feathers from the base, shredding the hard, grey-blue tubes with deft ministrations. It felt like peeling bark, or scraping dry paint. However, when the soft fluff of the feathers underneath revealed themselves, a bright crimson instead of the usual dirty maroon, it made up for the unpleasant sensations entirely.
