Summary
This is a compilation of one-shots that I wrote during the month of October for the Whumptober project. It was a challenge I set out for myself to see if I could write something every single day.
The only unifying thread between these works is that I was required to obey prompts. Also, all of these pieces were (supposed) to be Whump in nature. Summary
“Leave it alone!”
The eyes that meet his own are not the deep, unfeeling black void belonging to any of his brother’s eyes and Sanji’s heart leaps into his mouth, body freezing. Instead, a pair of uncanny green eyes, unnaturally bright, encounter his demand. Slit pupils, like those of a snake, narrowing at him.
The sound of another high-pitched squeak fills the sudden silence and Sanji’s eyes snap out from the snake’s to the little mouse wiggling frantically where pale, pale hands tightly hold it. It is going to eat it, and Sanji too, perhaps, in a single bite, and nobody is even going to care. But he cares for the poor mouse, and so, despite the fear choking his throat with cold, uncaring hands, he swallows and repeats: “Leave it alone.”
The snake cocks its head to the side, silver hair following the motion.
It can’t be called a chance meeting, just one strange accident. There’s nothing casual or serendipitous about it and, in the end, it won't be the catalyst for any difference in their life. The only thing both of them will have coming out of this will be a fond memory to look back at the edge of their humanity.

While Sephiroth’s currently having the mental crisis of the century, Tifa, Zack, and Cloud are trying to form a plan that will get Sephiroth off the books for a second and a little calmer. No really, he’s literally pulling his hair out. Cloud thinks that’s a crime. Tifa and Zack have to agree with him. And then, of course, the worst/best idea comes to fruition. Get Shinra’s number one SOLDIER higher than a kite. Shinra will totally thank them later, right?

Summary
In the years following the events of Final Fantasy VII, things have finally settled down. However, the peace is shattered by a shocking revelation, though perhaps not one all that unexpected. It seems the Jenova Project had proven inspirational for a handful of Shinra scientists in the immediate aftermath of Meteorfall, and their secret involvement in a series of underground experiments had finally birthed a result. Two of them, it seems.
A thought experiment into the age-old psychological "nature vs. nurture" debate, while asking the question:
"What if the Planet decided to take a highly unconventional method of keeping the Centra alive, by using Shinra's Science Department to create a pair of Ariseph-style kids, and everyone had to deal with the aftermath and learn to overcome their own trauma/prejudices?"- Language:

Meryin Reubinstein is looking for answers in regards to her mother's death over two decades ago and her search lands her in Nibelheim, where it all began. She ends up finding a little more than she bargained for, however, hidden away in a coffin of all things. She has to find out what happened back then but the more time she spends with that man, the more distracted from her goal she gets.
Meryin liked to pretend she was a princess, but the mansion she returned to was no castle; it was a prison. The answers most definitely lie beneath that very prison, so close yet so far, strongholded behind the three-headed guard dog.
The question is: will her search destroy her, or will it save her? And why is that man intent on making everything so difficult for her?//Set aprox. a year before the party would typically wake Vincent up. I'm taking inspiration from both the original FF7 game and the remakes! Small slowburn over 50k odd?
