Tommy, standing on the opposite rooftop, snorted disdainfully. Heroes were always so fucking pretentious. He was ‘surrounded’ apparently. Yeah, sure. It was only Dolos and his timid sidekick. Granted, they were annoying, and Tommy would really rather not get involved in Dolos if he could avoid the man, but he was easy enough to get away from when it came down to it.
Named aptly after the god of trickery and deception, Dolos’ power was the irritating ability to create illusions. On top of that, the guy had super speed. And he was a bitch.
Really, that was at least 3 strikes.

OR — Y’know those huge inflatable wiggly men? The ones that are much larger than they have any right to be, bend in ways that are simultaneously exactly what you’d expect and you had no idea were even possible, and are weirdly unsettling (yet fun) to watch unfold? He feels a twinge of fear for snapping at Technoblade like that, but he quickly shatters it.
“You are mortal, yet you stand before me, refusing to give up.” Technoblade replies, tilting his head up slightly.
“You are stubborn, and certainly foolish at times.” Technoblade’s gaze seemed to hold Tommy there, as they stared into each other’s irises.
“But you have a gift that many mortals will never have.” The prince pauses, releasing his eyes from Tommy, and attaching them to the window.
“You are brave.”

They all agreed not to get Tommy involved until he was ready.
Turns out Wilbur and Techno didn’t actually care about that agreement and started teaching their younger brother the ‘tricks of the trade’ years ago and Phil is just now finding out about this. Who in the world teaches a 14 year old how to hot-wire a car?

In which Phil has created the Antarctic Empire from the ground up and takes in Techno and Wilbur along the way, and raises them while also ruling his kingdom. Tommy, sixteen, lives with Tubbo in an orphanage, the two of them running around in the cold streets of their town.
After a hectic day of getting separated from Tubbo, getting into a few fights, and ending up in an entirely new town, he comes across Phil, and saves him from an assassination attempt by smashing a plate over someone's head.
So then both Techno and Wilbur decide to see who this kid is, and Tommy sure is endearing, in the way that the first time they spy on him, he starts a fight in an alleyway over a bag of cookies.
(and then Tommy basically gets kidnapped into the royal family, but like, legally, y’know?)

ok so where in gods name do i even start with this.... holy peak 💕There were so many times during this where i had to pause and say OUT LOUD "holy characterization" because goodness gracious did the author get that down absolutely perfectly. Literally the opposite of that one "he would not fucking say that" image because they would ABSOLUTELY fucking say that LMFAOOOO. This shit had me verbally commenting on it like I was there dawg I don't think I've ever been more invested in a fic before in my life... And yeah you called me out in one of the author's notes I did cry leave me alone???? 💔💔💔
Stood up and applauded when Quackity showed up btw i know he wasnt that important in the story but that doesnt matter ALSO NIKIIIII MY LOVE YESSSSSSS OH EM GEE i love seeing fics write her character with so much love and when they give her significant plot relevance like YESSSSSSSSSSS
Speaking of specific characters i am SO GLAD Tubbo was extremely important like hell yes. One thing I was worried about going into this fic was Tubbo just being completely forgotten about but now idk why I was even concerned. Okay so I know they were literally the MAIN CHARACTERS but i swear to god i think if I get into the SBI family dynamics I'll exceed the word limit on bookmarks so I may not be able to do that... and i dont think i have the words to describe it because every time i try my thoughts just come out like "AUGH I LVOE THEM I LOVE THEM I LOVE THEM AHHHHHHHH IM PHYSICALLY ILL" so like yeah. you get it dont you 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
ALSO THE LITTLE DETAILS AHHHHHH!!!! That's what gets me so good whenever I'm reading this author's fics (while reading this, I found out that they wrote like 3 other fics that I absolutely ADORED <333 gonna have to check out more... perchance...😼😼😼). For some reason my mind is blanking and i literally can't name any moments off the top of my head but there were countless times where something would happen and i think "damn they really had no reason to add that little interaction there but im SO glad they did because it just adds so much more personality to the characters." This author is a MASTER at that shit and I've noticed it across the few other fics I've read from them 😋
I feel like I haven't written nearly enough about it, but I truly cant get to everything I loved about this fic because that would take hours. Just know that this is an absolute GEM and is definitely one of the top DSMP fics I've read like ever???? Seriously dawg what the fuck were they feeding these artists and authors back in 2020 jfc... First time clicking the "Rec" button... kinda nervous 🙏
anyway storytime: I read the first few chapters of this fic across a couple days, got attached, stayed up too late reading the 4th and 5th chapters last night, stayed home from school today because I had stayed up too late, and finished the rest of it within today. I've never had more determination to finish a fic before in my life. This is now all I will think about for the next couple of days/weeks and this has changed my life forever i will never be the same thank you.
Also i checked their profile and this author writes like someone has them locked up in a cellar with a gun to their head i think we might need to check up on them soon

This one-shot is a formal 'Meeting of the 3 Kings' (of the Nether, End, and Overworld). Preparations are no less than chaotic as DreamXD, King of the Overworld, hosts an extravagant festival for the other Kings and threatens the members of the dreamsmp to be on their best behavior.

NO), but they do know how to bash the things in the head with a rock, and can conjure a mean Dad Joke if the brain cells happen to line up in the right order, so overall their lives are pretty solid!
