    Nodding in satisfaction, he turned around to meet the eyes of two other prisoners that had been thrown into his cell.

    He froze.

    Right.

    There were now aliens in his cell.

    And he probably just scared the hell out of them.

     

    Or: Humans are a dangerous race feared by all on an intergalactic scale. Techno, a human ex-soldier that was abducted by aliens 18 months ago, is biding his time in captivity.

    This changes when two young aliens are sent into his cell to die.

    Tommy pressed on the gas, the buildings and street lights becoming nothing but a colorful blur as he raced past them, a grin painted on his face. The engine thrummed beneath him, almost comforting as he sped past the brick buildings. It had been four months since Tommy had been in the driver's seat of a car, but he remembered everything. The mold of the steering wheel against his hand, the recline of his seat, the glint in his eye, reflected in the mirror, everything.

    Tommy Innit has been street racing for months.

    But finding time to race is hard when you’re a foster kid, and it’s even harder when you’re in the hospital for four weeks. So as soon as Tommy gets discharged, he’s itching to get back into the racing scene. Unfortunately, things are made a lot harder when he’s forced into a new family that wasn’t even expecting his arrival.

    Wilbur hates him, Techno’s apathetic at best, and Phil cares way too much.

    Tommy has his fair share of skeletons in his closet, and it seems like his old life is colliding into his new one, and it isn’t going to be pretty.

      good, anticlimactic, for a racing fic I expected more racing but maybe its because Im just skimming through it rn because I dont have the luxury to enjoy fics anymore for less than 20 minutes.

      I would read it again at my break but for now I like it.

      Wish phil appeared more but understandable.

      Completely obsessed with the car they chose for techo.

      But I see him more as an aston martin kind of guy real classy yk if not then a nissan skyline would kind of fit him considering this guy is only entering college and already has a car worth a semester.

Maybe they’d come out of the alley as a new family, this time with no secrets. “I--listen, Tommy, I don’t believe that you could be--” He paused again, fumbling for words it seemed. Tommy narrowed his eyes, “--you know. One of them. But, either way, I have to take you in. You know that.”

His plans are suddenly placed on an abrupt hold when he’s kidnapped and taken to a dark organization called the Syndicate - and suddenly things are falling apart faster than he thought they possibly could as the three leaders of the Syndicate place him under their loving protection, one of his best friends is revealed to be working for potential terrorists, his religious beliefs are horribly shaken, and everyone seems to be convinced that he’s the reincarnation of some ancient martyr. The final piece of some holy quartet Wilbur cheerfully calls ‘Sleepy Bois Incorporated.’

    Philza laughs at the name. Technoblade rolls his eyes.

    Tommy is just trying to grit his teeth and survive this entire ordeal.

    Tommy tilted his head, looking away for a moment. “Well… I mean, kind of.”

    “Kind of?” Music tried to keep her disapproval from showing in her voice.

    “Well…” Tommy bit his lip. “I… after… he’s kind of been looking out for me after… Wilbur died.”

     

    OR

    Dream never found his Platonic Soulmate, so he tried to replace them with Tommy. Tommy lost Wilbur after the 16th, so Dream was happy to be Tommy's older brother, even if it meant plotting against anyone who got in his way.

    And he would've gotten away with it too-- if his actual soulmate hadn't shown up.

    The build-up that started with his escape from that damned facility.
    That kept growing when he realized that 'Heroes' don't really care about his little dumpster town in the corner of the entire Essempi.
    that grew and grew when he realized that he seemed to be the only one who gave a fuck about his home.
    The build-up that snapped when he realized he and his two friends were left to fend for themselves in a world that was littered with crime.

    Maybe he was just bored of sitting around doing nothing. Maybe he wanted to spread his wings, y'know?

    but...when you garner the attention of some of the country's top heroes, well, the excitement never ends, does it?

    The Checkmate series is a canon-divergent Dream SMP AU in which Tommy never made it to Techno's house after escaping his exile, and is caught by Dream and dragged right back to Logstedshire. In this AU, Tommy is with Dream for a little over a year, with stricter rules and harsher punishments to keep him in line. Enduring Dream's abuse and manipulations for so long, Tommy finally breaks the way Dream wants him to; devoting himself well and truly to his former arch-nemesis, as they both fall for Dream's 'best friend' facade.

    L'Manberg believes him to be dead. Ranboo, Puffy and Phil have been missing for a year. Technoblade and Ghostbur have set off in search of Phil. Everything is in shambles. Relationships have split apart; others have grown and flourished. With no other choice but to try to move on from their losses, most of the remaining citizens of L'Manberg are doing whatever they can to take control of their lives again, to find happiness. With Techno gone, L'Manberg is somehow more at peace than it had been in a long time, even with Dream looming over their heads - there's nothing to fear, so they think.

    None of them are accounting for Tommy's return.

He needs to make absolutely sure that this is what Techno wants, because Phil will not be another person to force him into a situation where he feels pressured to say yes (or just, to not say no) to avoid negative consequences.
    “If you want to say no, you can,” Phil says. “If you’re not ready, or even if you just don’t want to. You can say no. No one is going to force you to do this.”

    He never expected to collapse against a tree and wake up with Dream's fucking face hovering over him.

    He never catches a break, huh?

    TL:DR, Tommyinnit crashes through realities and wakes up somewhere entirely different, with the face of his enemy being his first greeting into the world.
