When granted a well deserved weekend off, a rare occurrence as of late, he retreats into the solidarity of isolation. No one questions his disappearances, but instead, relish in the detective’s seemingly recharged demeanor when he comes into work the next day. Some of them currently have a bet on what his favorite form of stress release is. When Nines catches word of these bets, his curiosity grows and he's determined to get to the bottom of the mystery that is Gavin Reed.

ABANDONED WORK
RA9 isn’t a place or a single person, it’s a code. A special code that enables an android to convert others to deviancy instantaneously. Elijah Kamski put one half of the code inside two prototype androids that he then gifted to two different people. One half he put into an RK200 unique prototype that he gave to famous painter Carl Manfred as a companion caretaker. The other, a RK700 model that was gifted to a famous music producer as his personal plaything.
One day the two androids will meet, and the RA9 code will spark the flame of a revolution, and change the world itself.

This is a Markus x Original Female Character slow burn fanfiction that covers the events of the game, Detroit: Become Human, as well as the continuation of the revolution as Androids continue to fight for their freedom. Other characters from the game are featured as well, but their main stories will not be included.

There's a sickness going around Detroit, and it catches you.
At least, that's what Nines discovers on a solo mission gone wrong. Maybe things would've gone differently if Gavin had been there, but he had his hands full helping his nephew recover from their nearly fatal run-in with a gang of thugs. Something tells him that maybe this case was always meant to go wrong, though.
Gavin is doing his best helping the kid, but it's not like it'll ever be good enough. Rifts keep forming between him and everyone he tries to care about, and it feels like he can't do anything to fix it. Group that in with the ever-increasing rate of android-related crimes, and it's no surprise that he's on his last nerve. No one fucking believes him except Nines, which, given their history, makes no fucking sense at all. He's almost too tired to notice the prying eyes that have started following him on the streets.
This is a story about the bonds we make- how they can act as a safety net...or just as easily become the noose around a throat.

Summary
After being shot in Detroit's first ever "Shoot Him, He's the Fake One!" cliche, the (previously mentioned) Fake One wakes up in an android junkyard. The RK800-60 finds that running away from emotions and problems alike is just as easy as living everyday life with a bullet wound to the head.
Connor has no idea that there's another RK800 running around, and it proves to be incredibly confusing, because all these androids keep mistaking him for the RK800-60. Connor, however, assumes that it's just random androids claiming to know him, as a side-effect of being one of Jericho's newfound leaders. He's just trying to live his life in peace. Please let him live in peace. -

Simon doesn’t know what compels Markus to do this, but hey, he isn’t exactly complaining. Trailing his fingers over Simon’s neck as they depart Jericho. Letting his hand rest there, barely out of sight as they speak to President Warren with the other leaders of Jericho. It’s annoyingly pleasurable, for such a small movement. He's trying to do work, but it's hard to focus when there's a palm at your neck.
