Sokka flinches back. Whoaaa, how in Spirits name did Zuko project his voice like that? Sokka didn’t even see him move his lips.
As if he can hear Sokka’s thoughts, Zuko turns his head to look directly at him, eyes bewildered.
And this is where Sokka realises something is very, very wrong.
Two minutes later: “No way!” Sokka shakes his head wildly, just as prince jerkbender across him curses. “I’m soul bonded- To him?! No way! That’s just spirit mumbo-jumbo!!!”
-or, through some freak Spirit accident involving Zhao, the Avatar, and the continuous joke that is both their existence, Sokka and Zuko have been soul-bonded and mentally linked. Neither of them are particularly happy with this.

Summary
Zuko had always been, admittedly, a little weak for the way Jet touched him. How he would try and tackle him from behind. Push and shove at him, grab at his hair, and drag his teeth over the back of his neck until he shivered. Desperate for when those touches would grow gentle, unhurried in their excavation of Zuko. Jet was always a taker. He touched Zuko like he was his while making it abundantly clear that Zuko was free to take just as much. To consume him.
It was physical, mostly. It was probably the most beautiful mess Zuko had ever made.

Zuko has been hunting the avatar for six years of his life, and when he watches Katara take away the presumably dead avatar, he knows in his gut Aang will live. Before returning to the fire nation he comes across Sokka, who says that Aang sent him, to stay with Zuko until Zuko was ready to be good. The nineteen year old Zuko is forced to take Sokka prisoner and returns to the fire palace. Then the worst possible thing happens, he finds himself saving the water tribe peasant's life the only way he can think of - making Sokka his captured concubine.
So now he is stuck in the palace, torn between sides of the war, between what he has always believed and what is right, with eyes constantly on them, and Sokka in his bed, being as much of an idiot as he always seemed to be.
Only he learns that Sokka isn't an idiot, returning home sucks, and that maybe he can be the person the avatar, and his uncle, suggested he could be.

A gust of violent wind rattles them. Dry snow, like dust and stars, swirls in an eddy around Sokka’s head.
“Sokka!” The wind swallows most of Aang’s voice. He must be shouting, but it sounds more like a whisper
Sokka pushes his hands in front of him, as if he could somehow drive away the storm of spirits.
He can’t, of course.
The light floods across his world and crashes over him and drags him down, down to the bottom of a place that he can only think of as the ocean. But it’s not; it can’t be.
