Yeah, okay, that’s a tad outlandish, but he can’t stop worrying about everything that can go wrong.
“Hey, I’m serious,” Hagakure says gently, as if sensing his distress. She turns around to look at him. “I trust you with my hair more than some random hairdresser.”
“You shouldn’t,” Yuuga says before he can stop himself.
“But I do.”
Yuuga takes a moment to breathe, unwilling to start cutting until his hands have stopped shaking.

Or, at least, he should be. Instead, he is floating within a colorful vortex that reminds him too much of his own portals. He tries not to think too much about it. But, eventually he is forced to when the vortex spits him out into a world that used to be his home, many, many years ago.
Or; the one where Future!Leo somehow managed to luck out on a one in a million mere millisecond chance of a freak glitch in the space-time continuum that sends him back into the present, where the Invasion has been successfully driven back. And it looks like it was a one-way ticket travel.

Leo waited. His leg was growing painfully numb under the ice. He wanted to rip the pack off and heave it across the room where it could shatter on the floor. Instead, he forced himself to stay quiet as he watched everyone disperse on their assignments, feeling his heartbeat inexplicably rise in his chest until he finally couldn’t stand it anymore.
“And me?” Leo looked to Splinter. “I know portaling is kinda off the table right now, but, you know, plans are still kinda my thing. Just give me a minute—an hour max—and I know I can come up with a place for us to stay...” Leo’s voice faded as Splinter placed a warm pink hand on top of his own, making it lay still.
“Do not worry, my baby blue.” He said, giving the back of his hand a pat, a soft smile reaching his furry face. “I know exactly where we will go.”

Leo knew losing an arm would be a hard change. He just didn’t know exactly how many changes he'd have to deal with. Turns out that narrowly avoiding the Krang apocalypse doesn't mean everything goes back to normal.
(Or my traumatized turtle boys spend some time recovering in the countryside because the author was listening to Noah Kahan’s Stick Season album A LOT)

Leo is pulled through Mikey’s portal after seven long, grueling years trapped in the prison dimension with the merciless Krang Prime, only to discover his brothers who he desperately missed for all those years not only didn't have time to miss him because it was only two minutes for them, but they are also angry with him for so quickly and willingly sacrificing himself to save everyone, instead of coming up with a better plan all together.
One tragedy rips the family apart but another has the potential to bring them back together again when Leo turns to Draxum for help and they discover he is suffering ill effects from his time trapped away in an alternate dimension. But will he be able to reunite with the family who pushed him away while there is still time?
