“Yes, I speak Russian,” he snapped, defensive and angry. He knew that it had been a mistake to even try to be friendly with Rozanov. “Why? Do I not look Russian to you?” He scoffed.
“No, not really,” Rozanov said. Some of his teammates laughed, although they mostly looked surprised that Shane was speaking to them at all. Rozanov didn’t laugh, though. “Are you Russian?”
“Go fuck yourself.”

Despite an inauspicious start, when Russia’s Ilya Rozanov learns that Canada’s Shane Hollander is fluent in Russian at their first World Junior Championships tournament, it changes everything and sets them on a different course. Instead of being branded as rivals from the very beginning, Ilya and Shane start off as friends.
And, after all, a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone, did it?

When Arya and Sansa reunite in the crypts, they take that one opportunity to plot and plan together, setting the stage for the future. There is a significant focus on actual preparation for the wars to come, for the winter to come, and to the various and sundry matters of military and civilian logistics, training, trade, espionage, alliances, and so on and so forth.
Arya's connections with Braavos are also brought into play, as a priest of the Many-Faced God, a Faceless Man, and as someone who trained in Westeros with Syrio Forel, former First Sword to the Sealord of Braavos, and who also trained in Braavos with Qarro Volantin, current First Sword to the Sealord of Braavos.,
This work contains significant planning, training, preparation, politics, logistics, and sisterly bonding!
This follows fairly closely through Season 7 only for what was shown in Winterfell. There are serious changes to the underlying events, to their meaning, the preparation for the Long Night, and to the actual relationship between the sisters during their conversations.
This continues post-Season 7 with no reference whatsoever to the show's Season 8.

There was another student here.
Tom recognized him vaguely—while transfer students were not necessarily uncommon due to the war, they were rare enough to at least make an impression. This particular transfer student was in his year, sorted into Ravenclaw after an impressively long hat stall. He looked like he might be descended from the Potter line, but he did not share the surname so his lineage was of no particular interest to Tom. Nothing about him was of particular interest to Tom, in fact, and yet here he stood, holding the book that Tom had come here to find.
It would be a good time to turn away. The Restricted Section was restricted for a reason—only books documenting extremely dangerous or extremely advanced magic were stored here.
Tom’s feet, however, suddenly felt as if they were made of lead. It wasn’t magic keeping him tied down, but something far more mysterious like curiosity or even fate. In any case, the delay was all it took for the Ravenclaw to lift his chin and meet Tom’s eyes.
This Ravenclaw, Tom realized, had eyes as blindingly green as the Killing Curse.
