Summary
Sherlock is home, he and John are returning to cases, and all's right with the world--right? But a series of minor mishaps and injuries makes two things very clear to his friends and family: first, Sherlock's time away wasn't the grand adventure everyone has assumed it was; and second, that time has left Sherlock with a legacy that's bleeding into his life today. Sherlock is Not Okay, and it's not going away.
EDIT: I have now made this part of a series, since I am going to be doing occasional one-offs in this same universe.

This part is pretty heavily focused on autism and issues with incontinence and chronic pain (interstitial cystitis), so if those topics make you uncomfortable, or just don’t interest you, please feel free to skip this one. Furthermore: it mentions sexual abuse (both adult and on a minor) quite a bit, and the after-effects on the victim, because Sherlock gets almost taken advantage of (multiple times). This part is really really dark, so please heed the warnings and keep yourself safe!

Like with cockroaches: chronic illness comes rarely alone, and Sherlock has to learn to cope with each new challenge as it arises, which is easier said than done when you’re the world’s only consulting detective and autistic.
I wrote this to raise awareness about POTS (Dysautonomia) and the lesser known, barely talked about co-morbidities (not EDS, we’re not being cliché here)
