Summary
Scar, better known as the beloved superhero Hot Guy, has been doing this gig for almost twenty years now, protecting the city from the dangerous creatures and machines released from the under-city by hybrids and mutants bent on causing chaos and mayhem just for the sake of it. Or so, that’s the information he’s running on, which he recognizes is a little skewed, but he has no choice but to go with it.
That is, until an avian hybrid picks up the vigilante lifestyle and wedges himself into Scar’s daily hero-ing duties with annoying persistence.
Maybe he needs to rethink his career choices after all. Getting saved from being crushed by a collapsing building after a green monster exploded by a beautiful man with wings wearing thigh highs and heels would certainly do that to a person.
{In which Scar is trying to balance listening to his conscience with doing his job, Grian is having more fun flirting than he is fighting, and things always go back to the status quo, day by day…even if they don’t always want them too.}

Five Pebbles was pretty sure his story was coming to an end, alone in the snow, covered by his collapsed superstructure with no way out.
The world, however, gave him a second chance in the form of a weird green thing that seemed to...
...Throw him back in time?
Now with memories of freezing cold and information on how to not only fix the rot, but also fix Moon as well, he promised himself he would do whatever he could to never have to relive this awful cold all alone.
The isolation, cold, pain, and hundreds of thousands of cycles worth of thinking made him dead set on never going through that ever again. Even if that meant ripping off his umbilical before that could ever happen.In the meantime... The rest of the local group is confused. After all, the Pebbles they knew was a pretensious jerk who killed Moon then cut all communications, but the one that came back to them was a paranoid mess who seemed to space out every few minutes.

It’s the instinct of green life, Grian knows, that has him backing away slowly. He takes a few tiny steps backwards.
Scar looks at him, something angry and hurt in his gaze, “But I think you’ll make a good first message to the masses. You were the first to take advantage of me, after all.”

You wouldn’t know that upon first meeting, but it doesn't take a long time spent around one to realize this; they watch, they listen and they follow instructions. One though is bigger, heavier, a bit fatter and a whole lot cleverer than the rest. And Cleverness tends to attract Cleverness, which teaches its cleverness to other clever creatures.

“Hi, pretty bird.” He hears Hotguy croon. Grian turned to face his former nemesis, now nuisance.
“Do you want something, or are you just trying to annoy me?” Grian huffed out as he picked up the cop and moved him to the side of the building. Hotguy watched from a distance and didn’t respond until Grian turned around, hands on his hips.
“Just wanted to check on you, it’s been a minute. Wondered if the heroes got you. Was hoping I might have the chance to plan a daring rescue, which might help my chances of winning you over.” Hotguy leaned on the building, shooting Grian a sly glance.
“You make it sound like you’re courting me instead of trying to get me to turn to the dark side.”
Hotguy gasped dramatically and put a hand on his chest. “A Star Wars reference? A man after my own heart.” He then sat up again and walked closer. Too close, and then spoke once again.
“I can multitask birdy.” He said leaning forward until his face was only a couple of inches away from Grians.TLDR: Scar really wants Grian on his side, Grians just trying to live his life, and maybe take down the hero organization while he's at it.

Grian, a innocent student of architecture, gets his life flipped upside down after being almost sold off in an auction where he meets Mr.GoodTimeswithScar. He gets thrown into a new life of mischief, crime and terrible, terrible, missions. It's a Marriage of Convenience mission after all, it wouldn't be fun. Feelings shouldn't matter and be voided. Everything's just for the mission.
But is everything really just for the mission?
Love is complicated and Grian's not sure if he can keep living this new life of facades. Not that Scar's making it any easier for him anyway.
