    The bottom line is: Q hadn’t really meant to break one of Jean-Luc’s silly little rules. At least, not at first. He’d been following all of the man’s timeline-maintaining requests right up until the point that he was not, and Q knows that Jean-Luc probably wouldn’t believe him, even if he’d tried to explain that it hadn’t been done with malicious (nor decidedly selfish—) intent.

    In which Q messes with Jean-Luc's future more times than just once, Jean-Luc shows his displeasure in a way Q doesn't expect, and Q decides to take some time to self-reflect.
