“Get up. Drink this.” Sam held out a potion, shimmering pink with healing, which Dream hesitantly took. Sam’s voice betrayed nothing. His face might, but it was covered by his mask. Dream really wished he still had a mask.
He did as he was told, swallowing down the potion and relying heavily on the walls to bear his weight as he tried to stand. Sam helped to drag him up the rest of the way. Chains in hand, he led Dream onto the bridge.

OR: When intruders attempt to break into Pandora's Vault, Sam and Quackity hide with Dream in a secret room beneath the prison. There is nothing to do but talk.

Summary
In a timeline where Players are not whitelisted to the Dream SMP until they reach the age of majority, there is no drug van, no L'Manberg, no Doomsday, no Disc Finale, and no Pandora's Vault. However, in the aftermath of Sapnap's latest bout of trouble-making, the Egg awakens and establishes its empire, and despite the server's admin debugging the virus down to bedrock, the Dream SMP now has a brand-new public enemy number one.
(or: Due to one simple rule change at the Dream SMP's creation, BadBoyHalo is now the reviled and distrusted villain of the server instead of Dream.)

“This is awful.” His voice was strained, and it broke at the end of his sentences. “I’m useless. I can’t…” He made a terrible, choking sound that might’ve been a sob. “I can’t.”
Philza watched. He saw the trembling in Dream’s shoulders, the devastation that flashed across Techno’s face. He felt a terrible ache in his chest.
He’d fix this somehow.

Summary
“I think I made myself clear. However, if you’re so intent on proving me wrong…” Quackity paused, gaze intent with something that Sapnap couldn’t read. “How about…a little gamble?”
During a visit to Las Nevadas, Sapnap runs into an old friend and feels obliged to help despite, or rather because of their history.
Quackity has a god complex and is convinced he did what was best for everyone, so he offers a little gamble for old times sake.
Dream just tries to follow his orders. -

Summary
Sometimes, the hardest battles in a war are fought after the fact. And when Bad finds Dream half-dead in the middle of his backyard, the sirens of the prison he’s supposed to be in screaming into the night, it’s clear that his fight - whatever it may be - has only just begun.
(Or: an ex-cult leader and an escaped convict walk into a bar. The rest of the joke just about writes itself, doesn’t it?)

“Dream.” Punz whispers. And god, he’s getting really fucking tired of hearing Punz say his name like that. It feels wrong, too soft and pitying. All of this is wrong and it makes his chest tighten in a way he longs to escape.
Dream doesn’t remember the last time he breathed easily during the night. Or at all, really. But at least on his own he can suffocate without worrying about the concern it causes. He can drown in peace.
It’s easier that way.

Summary
Dream and Tommy are escaped convicts on a road trip that's halfway to doomed and just south of disaster only two and a half days in.
And being escaped convicts was always the easy part. Running as far and as fast as possible, and never looking back, that was even easier. But heading home? It might just be the death of them, it might just fix everything.

Summary
Dream, having just escaped the prison, desperately seeks shelter away from the SMP. When he’s taken in by Technoblade's wolves, he realises the only way for him to stay safe is to become one of Techno's pets. After all, Technoblade would never let his pets die.
(Dream sees himself as less than a person and Techno has a hard time convincing his friend that he's a person and not a pet— or a monster.)

It’s not going to be particularly easy to escort a vulnerable and exhausted man out of the prison, but Techno is nothing if not stubborn. Even if he has to carry the man for miles to get back to Techno’s home, he’d do it without a second thought. He’ll do anything to save Harpocrates.
Or: Techno breaks Dream out of prison, and they both struggle with the aftermath.

Dream leaves for parts unknown after L'Manberg gets blown up the first time. He knows what will happen, but he isn't going to stop it. He's done with everyone on the server. So he builds a house far from everyone with the intent to watch the whole server and everyone on it burn.
AKA The best revenge is living well (and watching as those who mistreated you don't.)
