Summary
Tommy is a foster kid who's been bouncing between homes for as long as he's been in the system. When his last home ends with a hospital stay and a court case, Tommy's left with one more house in his county before threats of being transferred out of state and never seeing his friends again.
Jaded, bruised, and angry, Tommy has to weigh the risks of an unknown house with his need to stay in the only place he's ever known consistency.

It's only temporary. Just a while - Tommy's living in this house, just until his wings are healed, and Sam manages to find him a house that won't end with him bleeding out on a bathroom floor.
It's a temporary arrangement - no more than a couple weeks or so?
Yet, Tommy's been in this house with the suffocating air and three of the weirdest people he's ever met (and that's saying something. has he ever told you about Ranboo?), and he's counting down the days until he can get out of here.
Just a week, maybe two. Maybe three, if the gods have it out for him particularly (more than they usually do).

“Thanks, Technoblade.” The mutter is barely audible, though he suspects it’s heard only due to 1. The proximity of the others and 2. Enhanced Hybrid senses.
“Bruhhh, just call me Techno, Technoblade is way too long.”
“Alright, Techno.”
Tommy glances into the hall once they leave. The second he’s sure they’re staying in their rooms, he uses magic to unload all his items. He flips onto his bed, pulls out his phone, and instantly complains to Purpled about this.
TL;DR Tommy’s a mage (the technical name is a Caster, excuse you) and none of the Magic homes will accept him. He has to stay with a human home, but they had enough pity on him to make them hybrids at least.

Tommy, Ranboo and Tubbo live with Dream in, well...not the best conditions. Dream is a horrible foster father and they want nothing more than to run away and leave Dream behind forever. One problem: they have no money to even get out.
So when Tommy finds a nice bakery hiring, he thought he could make enough money for him and his brothers to leave.

Wilbur’s jaw dropped when he found the source of the noise. He stumbled back and fell back, landing in one of the snowdrifts that had accumulated in the alley.
“Oh my gods.” He muttered. He could feel the blood draining from his face.
There was a baby in the alley.
More like a toddler, Wilbur decided as he stood up and peered down at it. The child was small, no more than three or four. It still fit in a basket, wrapped up in blankets and screaming at the top of its lungs.

TLDR; Prince Wilbur of the Antarctic Empire finds a baby Tommy in the back of an alley, and decides to raise him in his closet. Chaos ensues.

Tommy has survived against all odds. Despite the foster system's neglect towards hybrids, Tommy managed to hide his heritage and live a semi-peaceful life (if you could consider being beaten black and blue "peaceful").
This house should be a nice break from the monotony of survival. As long as he doesn't get attached to anyone, he can leave without anyone sparing a second glance in his direction.
Now, he just has to focus on today, and worry about tomorrow, well, tomorrow.
