Giyuu knelt at the bedside of the sick child, watched as Urokodaki attempted to feed the medicine. Giyuu studied him; laboured breathing mixed with what sounded like phlegm and a congested nose. A mess of black curls was all that spilt out of the futon, connected to a sweating and pale face with just a single scar over his right cheek. Giyuu relaxed somewhat as Urokodaki was successful. "His name?"
"Genya." Urokodaki responded, wringing out a towel and replacing it with the one already on the child's forehead.
"How do I help?" Giyuu asked.

Genya managed to make his way into the remote mountains of Urokodaki's home just a few years before Tanjiro.

Summary
Genya could spot the ground coming closer. Orange-yellow lights flickered to red as he continued growing closer and closer, each panel of wood growing its details.
The barest forms of a prayer wisped past Genya's lips, a silent call for his big brother to catch him. Just one, last, time.
Fuck… fuck. He hadn't even properly apologised. A breath caught in his throat, choking to keep at least something at such a time. That breath was harshly tackled out of him, Genya thrown to the side and into a shoji door. His vision cleared from the falling; showing who it was that saved him from near-certain death, whether it was an angel or demon.
The tension and fight left Genya's body, weightless. It was Sanemi.

Younger brother laying on the ground covered in blood, four in the morning, ashes disintegrating into the night sky. At least Sanemi had friends, or at least one girl who was worried about his whereabouts, even if she tried to hide it behind the mask.

Sanemi sheathed his sword and sprinted off east, leaving a heartbroken hashira recalling a scene with a demon crumbling to dust, a younger brother running towards the sunrise, and an older sibling who just lost everything standing in the middle of the road.

Sanemi, who was already out in the light, casting shadows on his face and outlining his scars, the sun was probably burning his eyes but he still dashed forwards with his normal amount of determination.

“Suuguruuuuuu,” Satoru cries—
Suguru turns and shoves the lollipop into his mouth. Satoru cuts off abruptly, eyebrows jumping up as he closes his mouth automatically. His glasses are a centimeter away from sliding off his face, and Suguru pushes them back up without thinking about it.
“You’re disgusting,” Shoko gags, suddenly turning away like she’s been physically struck. “I’m going to bed. I hate you two. I’m killing you both in the morning.”
Suguru can’t help but laugh as she stalks away in the direction of her room.
Satoru unwinds himself from his arm, and there’s a faint smattering of red across his face as he takes the lollipop out of his mouth. “Where’s this from?”
Suguru shrugs. “I saw it when I was out today.”
“Oh,” Satoru replies, and his eyes seem a little dazed as he stares. The red doesn’t go away. “Thank you.”
