Summary
Rouge crossed her arms more tightly and padded down the creaking wooden steps. The summer heat felt like silk on her skin, and she could taste the sea spray. She set foot on the sand, feeling it shift and give beneath her feet as she walked. She couldn’t change Shadow, nor did she want to. But she wasn’t going to let him ruin her mood. Maybe they both just needed a break from each other.
The only way that Rouge knows how to get Shadow to go on dates is by tricking him into thinking that those dates are missions. But when she goes too far under the guise of a seaside stake-out assignment, their date devolves into an argument, forcing them to reconcile their differences as they spend some quality time together at Emerald Coast.
