Hau had also been class president, and the valedictorian— both of which required pretty high academic achievement. Some boys— the kind like Ricky Walu, who would get pissed if a smaller or younger boy did something better than them, like it was some kind of personal insult to their masculinity— said that academics and grades were dumb, and that any boy who worried about that kind of thing was a sissy loser.
Hau wasn't a sissy loser. He was careful and deliberate. He knew perfectly well what the requirements were to get an elemental Starter Pokémon from Professor Kukui. And maybe it took him a good eight years to pick between Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio— the decision culminating only the night before he actually chose— but he knew he wanted one of them, and he had prepared for it. If that meant becoming the valedictorian, then by Arceus he was going to become the valedictorian. And he became the class president on top of it, because that kind of thing looked good on college applications and he did, eventually, plan to go to college.

Summary
Hi, just a heads up for anyone who ended up here after 26/03/2023
This is the old version of a series that I'm currently rewriting (The new title is Midnight Supernova, and the account is burnthemethod).
Long story short, I love this series with all my heart, but I ended up not being able to continue because of all the plot holes that I had left and the way the story was progressing just wasn't doing it for me. So rather than delete it I'm just going to orphan it, so people can still read it if they want (i don't know why you'd do this to yourself but you do you) but I'm not going to be adding anything new to this series.
If you were here since the start, know that I wouldn't have had to motivation to get as far as I did with this, and that I love you all.

Summary
This is a series of works, meant to be (at least in my eyes) an entertaining and different (but not by much) take on the story of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, based on the ideas I had while watching playthroughs and whatnot of the game. I originally was never intending to do something like this, but after realizing the untapped well of ideas the games gave me, I decided to try.
This series contains violence, strong language, mentions and attempts of suicide, sexual jokes, possible flanderization of characters (mainly Nemona, somewhat), mentions of bullying, mentions of child neglect, and people in power not really knowing how to run a damn region despite trying their best so it's a little better.
Enjoy. But also...brace yourself. This gets heavy.
