Judy Alvarez is newly divorced from Bianca and living alone in Pittsburgh. She spends her days fine-tuning BD's at a small tech startup, and her nights wondering if she’s about to make the same mistake twice.
Both are in new, exciting relationships. Both are trying to forget the past and move forward.
But neither can shake the memory of those beautiful six months in 2077, when everything was raw, electric, and heartbreakingly real. When they felt the pure rush of falling in love.
This is kind of a slow-burn story. It's about coming to terms with the past, the heavy price of regret, and a hope for better days....
And for Valerie & Judy, one question remains:
When the world changes and you change with it, what happens to the love you leave behind?

She works in the foreign offices of the NUSA’s Counter Intelligence Division and lives in a modest studio apartment on the outskirts of the city. She's single, sorta happy, but terrified of opening her heart back up.
One day, she gets an email inviting her to a farewell celebration being held at Lizzie’s Bar, thousands of miles away. The club is closing its doors for good and the Mox are throwing one final bash to commemorate the bittersweet occasion….
Immediately, V's thoughts return to Jude. Will she be there? Alone? With Bianca?

How Valerie struggled to deal with the chaotic nature of love, hatred, and sadness.
The human nature is one of the most complex things ever existing in the universe. This explains in my own way, that nothing can be dealt with in the blink of an eye. It takes time. Lot of time. It pours blood, sweat, tears, smiles in this lifepath.
A long, very long highway of trials, challenges, ups and downs awaits the former mercenary, the techie with long forgotten fiery, and the clumsy corpo wife.
Don't forget, we're all humans. We have strange emotions and ways to deal with our problems.
That's the human nature.

As the world watches for the fugitives behind Arasaka’s fall, the two women hold to one truth: they survived, and they’ll keep surviving, one step, one kiss, one morning at a time.

Oh and lots of assholes, and fates of life that doesn't gives rest for the good souls.
Maybe after lots and lots of trials and challenges thay can live their quiet life.

V couldn't bring herself to turn Songbird in, she understood she was just trying to survive on while on the brink of death, after a life of being used, abused and manipulated, her Freedom stripped and Twisted into a living weapon. V would have done the same thing in her position.
The pair of dying women shared a bond no one else in this world would understand. Surprisingly Reed lets them go.
Eventually V watched the shuttle take off and Accepts her fate. Johnny took that time to self reflect, he had noticed her sacrifice and would follow the same path.
Days Later a certain someone "convinced" Myers that V is owed the cure she was promised for saving the President's life.The surgery doesn't pan out as promised. V wakes up to find 2 years have passed her by in what felt like a minute, and learns the complications of her new life, forced to abandon the old one. V still felt as if something was off, like she wasn't given the full truth. Her distrust in the FIA leaves her skeptical of the aftermath.
This is probably going to be my longest running story and a slow burn, but I promise You'll all get that ending I mentioned in the tags!

They’ve recently celebrated their one year anniversary, and they’re loving life as a newlywed couple. Overall, Valerie feels at peace for the first time in years. She still thinks of her old life from time to time, but as always, it’s Judy Alvarez whom she misses the most…. One afternoon, she receives a ping from Bianca. The news is bad. Judy’s sick, and they’re not quite sure what it is. Her doctors concur that it most likely has something to do with Laguna Bend, and her prolonged exposure to the toxic waters of the reservoir. Her prognosis isn’t good. The illness seems to be spreading at a rapid rate. Bianca is well aware of Judy's history with V and ultimately decides to reach out to her. To ask if she'll consider coming out to Pittsburgh. Bianca believes V's presence will go a long way to revitalizing Judy’s fractured spirit. She asks her to keep it a secret until she arrives. Of course Valerie agrees to come out, and spend as much time with her leelou bean as she can. And then what?
