The Den is a home to all monsters, a safe heaven for them to escape to. Any monster could find it with their eyes closed, drawn to it like a moth to a burning flame. It's the closest thing they have to a sanctuary, one protected by the literal Angel of Death. Humans are rarely let in, unless they have some Godly patron or superhuman quality.
Of course, everyone knows that Wilbur is the exception to the rule. The only human, and the adopted son of the Den's protector. He's always been someone people whisper about when he passes by: a human raised by monsters. Always in the in-between, insure of if he's trustworthy, or secretly repressing the urge to massacre them all, and reveal their safe space to the world at large.
But Wilbur has a secret. One that he's afraid to acknowledge, even within the confides of his own mind;
he's not sure how human he really is, and at this point, he has no clue how to bring it up.
