“When you're in surgery time seems to slow down, but no matter how much you slow it down. You can’t go back… or at least that’s what I thought.”
Alex and Meredith are back in the past repeating their time at Seattle Grace, from their first day as interns. Deciding what to change, and what should stay the same, is choosing between life and death at times. Will they manage to survive or will they doomed to repeat their mistakes? Will they suffer consequences worse than the lives they previously lived. Perhaps, just maybe, It just takes two lifetimes to make things right.
They traveled from some time around s17, although I haven't watched past the ep Alex Karev left and choose to believe that never happened... I will vaguely mention things from other seasons past Alex Karev's departure I've heard about because it may be important to the plot.

I know it's been said before that none of the Disney sequel movies apply to the Descendants series of books or movies, but I asked myself the question: what if the sequels did apply? This series is what became of that question - a grimmer version of the Isle and it's inhabitants, a closer look at the people who set up the Isle in the first place, and at those who wish to take it down, or at the very least who wish to let the guilty be guilty and the innocent be innocent.

When Doc woke up, Lightning was in the same position he fell asleep in which was odd because the kid couldn’t sit still if his life depended on it. He decided to let the kid sleep a little more, hoping he’d wake up once Doc had gotten everything ready.
He hadn’t.
The race wasn’t until four that afternoon, but there were still a handful of pre-race activities they needed to take care of. Pulling the covers off Lightning, the kid still didn’t move. Doc shook Lightning’s shoulder to wake him up, but that hadn’t worked either.
“Kid? Get up, we gotta go.”
Still nothing.
When Doc grabbed his wrist, his fingers grazed where his pulse was. It was slow, even for someone who was sleeping. Going in for a real observation, his pulse was indeed abnormally slow. Now he was concerned. Why was his pulse so low?
“Lightning?” Shaking him a little harder, Lightning was yet to stir at any action Doc took. Doc leaned in and raised his eyelids to find that his pupils were largely dilated. He knew something wasn’t right.
Lightning had been with him all night. What the hell happened?
