Summary
Basil woke up at the hospital to find Sunny confessing the truth to his friends. He hoped that it was over, that they could finally be happy again, but Sunny dropped off the face of the Earth. Now, it was up to Basil to handle the fallout and future.
Forgiveness would come slower from some than others, and the road ahead was long, but it was there—and Basil wouldn't be alone this time.
(A post-canon Basil-centric sunflower fic focused on a realistic depiction of the healing process, exploring the relationships within the friend group (mainly Basil's relationships), and ending my brainrot. I cannot exaggerate how terrible the first few chapters are compared to the later ones; please give this a chance lol.)

“When are you leaving, Sunny? Should I wait for your mom to come back? I bet she's bought such a neat house. It's a shame though that we won't be able to hang out here anymore. Man, how I'll miss that.”
Sunny doesn't reply, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. He never replies. He only ever slightly shakes his head or talks with his eyes that are so big and expressive. But now his eyes are so blank. Maybe he just has nothing to say. It's not a problem though. Kel can always wait till he's ready.
His hands are sticky from blood.

V2 was just waiting in the throne room, enjoying this nice, comfortable seat till their rematch with V2, that was, until hearing the screams of someone within. Curious, V2 would find a…… human, attacked by several Virtues. They easily take care of those Angels with the Whiplash, and, walking towards the strange Human, she states that her name is Mari, and she’s trapped in this strange place, deeply afraid.
Due to their programming ordering them to prioritize the protection of Humans over collecting blood, as well as genuine pity for the Human girl, V2 decides to allow Mari to accompany them, protecting her from whatever may attack her or them. V2 would also find themselves feeling a strange emotion… one they had never felt since Humanities presumed extinction. All that they know is that this emotion is connected to the human girl.
