Serpent Law is irrefutable. This is a fact of Sweet Pea's short life. It has been ingrained so deeply into his bones that most of his day-to-day decisions stem from them. Therefore, once someone runs the gauntlet or does the dance, they are now part of his family. He will do anything for them as they would for him.
Which is why when he finds the blonde who stole the show of F.P.'s retirement turned re-commitment party sitting on the yellow parking block next to his bike muffling sobs into her hand, he makes an easy decision. Rather than ignoring her and climbing onto his bike to go home like he planned, he sits next to her.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Cooper, new girl with jacket of leather with a certain gang tag on the back, and a pin on the collar of said jacket of a flower to delicate for a girl with motor stains on her slacks, and a pocket knife in her back pocket. This was a girl with a story if her facial scars didn't speak for that, or that cold empty look she had when she wasn't glaring at everyone.
This was a girl from the other side of the tracks, one a certain boy with a crown beanie didn't know.
(This is an AU of Betty not being a North side girl next door, but of a young Serpent that is going through something big, and her trying to find a place in the North side after growing up on the other side of the tracks.)
I don't own anything other than this story-line.
(Betty will take more treats of her comic design and personality because I loved her more tomboyish character and I wanted to use her canon features.)

A couple weeks at the Jones/Lodge residence should be fine. Great, even. It means she gets to spend a couple of weeks with her best friend in the entire world, catching up after spending a year away from Riverdale. But Betty has secrets, and after the death of a fellow classmate, she wonders how long she can hold these secrets in.
