Summary
He had crashed on Earth's surface in 1990, battered and in a sorry state long before he hit the admittedly soft surface. Decepticons had intercepted the route sent out among the Autobots for a safe haven some millions of light years back, and honestly, he should have been much worse off after fighting and taking down three seekers.
Ah, the internal warnings screaming at him aside, it could have been worse.
After spending a solar-cycle taking care of the worst of his internal repairs, the newcomer to Earth headed toward a small town he'd flown over before impact, each step a chore to his battered frame that he could not wait to try and wash off. All momentum freezes when he comes across some sort of fenced-off area, filled to the brim with strange alt modes that were stacked with seemingly no organization to rust, something that tears at his processor as he scans the closest stack.
Ah, they were but shells...this he could work with.

If it wasn't for the fact he was stranded on an alien planet who knows how far from Earth, Raoul probably would have gone full nerd mode for at least an hour. As it stood, he just followed the red mecha named Ironhide (which is so cool??? Holy shit??) as they land inside a full on city packed with more mechas than he'd ever seen in his entire life, glowing eyes honing in on him when he exits the spaceship. It wasn't hard to see why, even though he was smaller than most mecha back home, he was a good head or two above most of these non-mecha aliens.
"Another one?" A white and red mecha had been talking to someone when they arrived, the insignia on his shoulders registering to the human as some sort of medical marking when it (He? She? Oh god this was going to get confusing soon) hurries over to one of the injured mechas that he'd traveled with.

At the start of TFP they mentioned it's been three years since the last Decepticon attack, but what if it was also the last time they lost a team member?

Summary
The war is over. The Autobts and Decepticons have a peace plan in place and are learning to live and govern together. Some mechs take to the peace like fish to water, and begin stepping into new lives. Mirage and Sunstreaker are two of them, and while their steps reflect the past, they are certainly moving into the future.
The two Autobots open a series of art galleries across Earth. They are open to everyone, regardless of faction or race, and might possibly do as much to keep the peace as Optimus and Megatron do from the council hall in the ruins of old Iacon.
