“Out, get the fuck out,” he snapped again, jabbing a finger in the direction of the door for emphasis.
John only hesitated for another second, his face turning red and obviously mortified, before he seemed to hunch in on himself and scurry towards the door.
He let himself out without another word, leaving Ghost in blissful silence again – finally.

Summary
It started out as nothing but a makeshift surgeon’s hut. Barely lit by sputtering candles and a window that didn’t nearly let enough sunlight through. The table and floor was soaked with the blood of many, but the man that used to live there had been said to have the steadiest and quickest hands that anyone had seen. There was no telling how many lives the old man had saved, even as his age advanced.
And when the surgeon had died, the townspeople had turned the hut into a shrine, of sorts. Until someone had decided to tear it down and pay homage to the god that had so clearly guided the man.
The god of Blood. Death, inevitably, would always follow.

Summary
Soap paused, picking up the pen. He looked over his list. Three columns, “yes”, “no”, and “maybe”. He pulled the paper close. Hesitating, he underlined a single item, then crossed out the rest of them one by one. When he finished, he looked back at Ghost, as if daring him to say something about it. When Ghost didn’t, Soap pushed the paper over, crossing his arms over his chest.
Underlined was “kneeling” under “yes”, the only thing left on the page. It didn’t matter what the other “yes” items had been, they were very clearly in the “no” column now.
Ghost forced himself not to feel frustrated, had to admit to himself that Soap might be the most challenging sub he had ever had assigned into one of his units.

Summary
Despite what some people - namely Gaz - liked to say, Soap was not usually a jealous man. Why would he be? He had just about everything a man could possibly ask for. A good career with a good team, good friends, and good family. He was well-liked, well-admired, and well-appreciated. Even Ghost, notoriously hard to win the simple tolerance of, seemed to actively enjoy his company. He didn't have anything to be jealous about.
At least, he didn't until the fucking rookie showed up.
(Or, four times Soap got jealous over something ridiculous, and the one time Ghost did (and they actually did something about it))
