Summary
It’s near a lake where he finds the kid.
The kid’s staring at the water with a fascination that stirs up long-buried memories in the back of his mind. He can’t say he blames the kid. It’s so unlike anything that could ever be found in the Nether. It’s the color of the warped forest but the consistency of lava and so, so cold to the touch when compared to everything his birth dimension has to offer.
When he walks by the kid perks up at him with a surprising amount of coherence for someone so young and affected by zombification. He pays it little mind--in the end, it’s not his problem.
So, he continues on his way.
Typically, after such an encounter, the whole thing would barely imprint in his memory. It would be something faint that he might have to work to reach to if he has to recall it later. It would be a mere footnote on the story of his day, something he might not even tell Philza about later.
This was not a typical encounter, though, because the kid’s starts following him.
Ugh.

Summary
Honestly, Techno should've known it was a trap.
He really, really should've been more distrustful of that crow, but it had zoomed over the landscape and cawed wildly and that always meant Phil was in trouble. Of course Techno had followed. He should've thought about how it was weird for there to be only one. He should've noticed the weird red undertones of its feathers before the drop down to the spider spawner.
It turns through tight tunnels down into the Egg room, and oh god, there's Phil.
