Summary
It's been six years since Niedamir's mountain, and things have seemingly settled at Kaer Morhen. That is, until word of a Witcher's bard captured by Nilfgaard reaches the ears of the old keep. Geralt and Yennefer team up to save Jaskier and fill a void in their makeshift family they didn't know was there until it was threatened.
They'll end up with so much more: new chances at love, and an opportunity to stick it to Nilfgaard once and for all.

Or: Jaskier is sent to prison for prostitution, where he learns of the White Wolf - a prisoner that doesn't interact with others at all, and who is speculated to have committed some truly heinous crimes. Jaskier, ever curious and with no sense of self-preservation, decides to get to know the guy. Though that proves a bit harder than he had first expected.

“We’ll be all alone in the keep?” Jaskier’s voice was full of innuendo.
“Oh no, Vesemir is here,” it took one long moment for him to place the name.
“Oh. Yes, good. A one-on-one with your Witcher lover’s centuries old Witcher father. That’s not daunting at all,” Geralt snorted, utterly unbothered by Jaskier’s only slightly exaggerated distress.
“He says, as if he’s not centuries old himself,” Geralt said to Roach.
“Hey now, I am young at heart!”Jaskier has begrudgingly agreed to accompany Geralt to Kaer Morhen for the winter. He has not, however, agreed to being up front about his true nature. Meeting the family is stressful enough without the threat of a painful death.

After the worst day of his life, (aka the mountain breakup) all that Jaskier wants is to go home to his parent's nest and lick his wounds. He did not expect to find Geralt there sipping Tea and his mother telling him that he was betrothed to the Witcher. He had been aware that his parents were allied with lots of political groups, the Witchers of Kaer Morhen being one of them. He had also been aware that he had been betrothed to someone before he had even been born and yet he had never actually counted 2+2 together.

Summary
He grabs his weapon with both hands, swings it over his head and drives the sword into the beasts eye right into its brain, surprised by how easy his sword glides through the bones of the skull. The beast twitches and screeches one last time before it falls still.
With thrumming heart he stares at the corpse while taking a few steps back. His body is shaking.
“What the fuck?!”
Jaskiers head snaps up when a deep and furious sounding voice appears close to him. Cornflower blue eyes meet golden ones. Geralt is stepping next to him, drenched in mud from the shallow river.
“What the fuck?” he repeats looking daggers at Jaskier.After Geralt chased Jaskier away on that damn mountain the bard decides that it is time to return to his family and finally fulfill his responsibility as a viscount.
But when he reaches his parents house and learns that both of his parents died while he was away his life takes an unexpected turn.
A letter makes him realize that Jaskier doesn’t know everything about his past.
