Summary
Tony managed to win the fight in Siberia, leading to the detainment of the rogue Avengers and, much more importantly, Bucky Barnes. In Tony's own words, the Winter Soldier's extensive, international, very politically charged crimes and refusal to turn himself in have landed him permanently in the hot seat. And, of course, Tony has his own feelings about how Bucky should be dealt with.
“You were looking at a very unhappy ending with an undetermined amount of unhappy times in between now and then. Instead, your rights have been signed over to me. I’m your legal guardian and power of attorney. I decide everything that does or doesn’t happen to you from now on."
It sounds like the opening to a villain origin story, but Tony has some interesting ideas on how to best deal with the man who murdered his parents, and it might wind up doing more for Bucky than living on the run with Steve ever could have. Now, that doesn't mean Bucky is going to necessarily like it... but whether Bucky likes it doesn't really matter anymore.

In 2015, Steve and the Avengers search for Bucky Barnes, thanks to a little extra intel from the future. GEN-based hurt/comfort/angst story, heavy on friendship, recovery, and examination of one very traumatized guy from the 1940s. COMPLETE, Standalone.
This canon-based multi-verse story takes place immediately after Age of Ultron. What does that mean? Because this is part of my Winter Soldier Time Travel series, it takes place in a canon-compliant timeline offshoot from the original canon-based story. I recommend you read Part 1 of the series (Winter Soldier: Resurrection), but you can easily understand this story without doing so. However, Part 1 is an easy read, less than 40K words, and it'll give you the background for this story. Part 2 of the series isn't relevant to Part 3, so you don't have to read that long story to understand this one at all. The end of Part 1 leads directly into Part 3 (Isn't the MCU multiverse fun?). LIGHT Bucky/Natasha.

But they've always avoided any conversation topics that might be considered heavier. Namely: feelings.
It's been a perfectly normal Tuesday morning so far. They haven't exchanged any words today, other than a dry greeting when Tim sat down half-an-hour ago. There's no way they're about to have this conversation right here, right now.

Summary
A broken, disillusioned Steve Rogers is afflicted by a delusion that the mysterious assassin who nearly killed him is actually his best friend, who died 70 years ago. SHIELD wants to lock him up and return him to being a perfect, sparkling nationalist symbol as quickly as possible. Sam Wilson, who has wrestled with his own disillusionment and his own ghosts, knows that Steve needs compassion and the support of a true friend, not a forced regime of recovery that takes away what is left of his shattered autonomy.

This is a retelling of "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen, but with the Batfamily instead. It's also an AU where there is no canonical Santa (yet!).
The only thing that might not be for general audiences is there's a lot of cursing, especially in the first half.
