Summary
Haruka Sakura, a child born with features seen as freakish, grows up doubtful that he deserves anything but the scorn of others. One day, he meets a boy who he figures has a few screws loose in his head. That boy was none other than Yamato Endo, someone who brought Haruka a world filled with care and excitement. Someone who introduced him to an even odder person by the name of Chika Takiishi. Neither of them judged him. Neither of them scorned him.
All good things come to an end eventually... they made a promise to meet again in three years' time... but when they reunite again, will they still treat Haruka the same?

Two.Like he could reach out and hold that number between his fingers.
Like something so small could be the weight of a planet sitting on his spine.
His mouth opened, but nothing came out. His throat burned. His eyes stung, vision blurring just slightly around the edges. Not tears — not fully — but close enough that he blinked hard, quick, hoping they wouldn’t fall.
Two points.He felt sick. His mistake. If only he wasn’t a mistake, a failure, a liability, then maybe Max could’ve been the winner.
He couldn’t breathe around the guilt strangling him from the inside.The helmet suddenly felt too tight. Too hot.
Maybe if he’d defended better.

The traps they come across are extreme and dangerous, and Sam starts to experience more effects than just a mild sedative should cause. Naruto continued forward until he felt his knees give out. He stumbled to the ground and tried to keep himself upright but it was no use. Footsteps rushed toward him and he rolled over to see Hidan approaching.
His furious expression promised nothing short of murder. He looked like he’d walked straight out of a nightmare. Naruto scooted back pathetically but froze instantly when Hidan pointed the silver revolver at him.
This was it. It was finally over.
“I’ll make it quick,” Hidan said gently as he panted above him. “And I’ll be right behind you.”
Naruto gazed up at the slate blue early morning sky. Everything was silent. His eyes slipped closed and when Hidan cocked the hammer back and the sharp metal clink reached Naruto’s ears, he didn’t even flinch.

Edward Elric is thirteen and has been through way too much. After a special unit of the police, lead by Roy Mustang, found the horrible scene that the Elric house displayed two years ago, and the state the Oldest boy was in— Roy dedicated his life to keep Edward safe. That does however entail becoming a foster parent, and having him have a protective detail stuck on Ed. Of course that means that Jean Havoc is stuck doing that… a lot.Or: the big brother Havoc fic that my heart desperately wanted after being obsessed with FMAB for all of five minutes.

Ed is attacked on a mission. When he wakes up, he finds the team he's always kept at arms length growing closer. At the same time, so does his attacker– hell bent on the truth, a truth Edward doesn't share easily. Ed has to juggle the temporary living arrangements that draw the team even closer, and the truth that's too painful to bear. However, it doesn't seem quite as hard with some semblance of support. The others might call it family, but Ed and Al aren't so quick to trust, especially when someone is busy prying for answers.
AKA. Ed gets suspiciously hurt on a mission. When he wakes up, and finds all of a sudden he’s got a new (old) family. A team of people suddenly doting on him and Al in every which way. Edward isn’t about to take this offense lying down!
