Summary
Todd finds Dirk after Riggins confronts him at the Ridgely building at the end of 1x03, and unknowingly helps him calm down. And a somewhat parallel scene after the end of the S2 case where Todd and Dirk are resting at Hobbs’ house and take comfort with each other.

Summary
Todd Brotzman died. It sucked, but also his life kinda sucked. Made sense that dead end jobs led to his literal... dead end.
What he wasn't expecting was the job offer after he died. He gets to stick around and all he's got to do is snatch up some souls? It's not the best job, doesn't pay anything, but he'd do anything to be able to keep an eye on his sister, especially now that her brother had died and left her basically alone.
And the reaping isn't so bad. It's steady and consistent. At least until one of his marks proves especially difficult to pin down.

Summary

Arthur would never bring magic back to the land, and he would never let Merlin stand at his side the way Merlin had hoped he would. It was a cold awakening, years of baseless faith dashed against the fraying tapestry that destiny had made Merlin sew into his own skin, but an awakening nonetheless.
Merlin is shaken out of his obsession with destiny and his blind faith in Arthur. Arthur just wishes he knew how to get his closest friend back.

“Excuse me? Sir?” Wylan spoke softly, but it was somehow enough to gain the man’s attention.
“Well, hello there, gorgeous,” the man said, leaning a hip against the wall they were standing by. Wylan could feel his cheeks reddening at the words, clearing his throat as the man continued. “What can I do for you?”
“Well,” Wylan started, fidgeting a bit with his fingers at his coat hem. His forehead was starting to get warm underneath his blue beanie and the press of his red hair underneath it, the white puffball on the top weighing down on him. “I couldn’t help but overhear you at the counter. I think we’re facing the same problem, you need to be in Ketterdam by tomorrow, yes?”

At an instant, Wylan’s bright smile turns precarious. It’s not so much anything to do with his expression as it is the sudden tense in posture, the way he so obviously tries to look unbothered.
Jesper grimaces, just as instantly. “You don’t have to–”
“It’s nothing. It was part of a treatment this ‘doctor’ my father called had, for my reading…” Wylan makes a small, unspecific gesture with an awkward smile. The silence that hangs is thick.

A discovery of a locked-away box of Wylan’s childhood belongings stirs up an argument between Jesper and Wylan, and then a conversation—but not before bringing up a few memories too.
