"None taken," Cloud says, and from the way he shrugs a shoulder, he quite means it. "Still. Do you know how long?"
"No," Genesis closes his eyes and thinks. "The last year I remember…"
He murmurs it, surprised by how unsure he is of it, then opens his eyes. Cloud's face has taken a grim light, the fire's cast leaving a halo of light behind him.
"Genesis," Cloud says with more care than before, which already has Genesis worried. "I'm sorry. I think you've been under there for five years."

Summary
Skyé veor Ofrithor, or rather, Cloud Strife, has lived for millennia without venturing into the outside world. Yet one day, his best friend Tifa Lockhart had enough and dragged him off his mountain abode to the dwarven town of Corel.
Unbeknownst to him, he agreed to join a group of rebels who fight against Shin-ra's questionable business practices which may or may not include slavery of anyone possessing human blood. This wasn't really a big deal for many as well, humans were banished by the Cetran Council for creating homunculi.
Homunculi themselves became rare as the humans that created them were executed and the ones that existed had no sentience, and the ones which perished possessed no intelligence.
A being created with alchemy carrying a soulmate mark given to him by Gaia.
...would they see him as nothing more than an abomination too?
...or would they hate him for being "human" as well?

“You’re starving.” Zack says with dawning realization, watching the boy clutch at the wall behind him, nails chipping the paint. “When was the last time you fed?”
Cloud’s body heaves. His gums ache to sink his teeth into something, and his vision blurs around the edges. He doesn’t even have the decency to wipe the drool that slides down his chin. Doesn’t feel anything. The pangs of hunger overtaking his senses.
God, when was the last time he ate?
Cloud, a boy raised in a cult town run by vampires, falls for the man everyone calls ‘Father’. But on the night of his wedding, he’s forcibly turned and seemingly abandoned by his husband — his sire. Zack Fair, the bleeding heart, takes Cloud under his wing and a sinister past catches up with both of them.

Their lips meet, and it’s vicious. They’re not gentle or slow about it, they gnash at each other with bared teeth. Zack bites down on Cloud’s bottom lip hard enough to draw blood, swiping his tongue over the wound to soothe it. Cloud claws at his arms, pushing back against him, fighting to control the kiss. Zack doesn’t allow it. He takes Cloud by the wrists and pins his hands down by his hips.
They pull apart for a moment, just so he can whisper, “I don’t like you.”
“I don’t care.” Cloud spits back, chasing after Zack’s lips like a starved man.
