And she says that’s what keeps you safe. That’s what gets you up there. And if she’s right— Sirius, if she’s even half right, what if that means we’ll be separated forever?”
There it was. Not fear of fire. Not even fear of damnation. Just the unbearable thought of being torn from his brother. Forever.
“I don’t want paradise if you’re not in it,” she whispered.

He was Regulus Arcturus Black, heir of the most noble and ancient House Black and with his name came protection and power made of smoke and mirrors. Regulus Black had come to believe that silence was safest.
Whether that was to remain silent as his brother was punished by his family or when the same brother would confront him years later for choosing the Black Family over him, Regulus hid everything behind silence. When that didn’t work, his carefully curated persona would take over.
Regulus had decided the night he took Sirius to the Potters' that he would be everything his brother was not to save him. He was to be perfection, and perfection did not allow for any wayward brothers, certainly not a sweet and warm James Potter.

Summary
Izuku had a soulmark before. Explosions across his collarbone, bright and loud, a neon sign that screamed for all the world to hear exactly who his soulmate was.
It disappears in his final year of middle school. Izuku asks the universe to take it away after his last straw is taken in Kacchan’s hands and snapped in half, and he isn’t granted a second one. Not that he minds all that much- no, no one is better than Kacchan was, and Izuku thinks he can settle for finding love one day without the help of some fancy mark on his skin.
Hitoshi never had a soulmark before. He grew up without one and got bullied for it. After all, he was the villain kid, so despicable with such an evil quirk that even the universe agreed he wasn’t worthy of love. He grew to accept it slowly, eventually coming to terms with the fact that he’d have to find someone on his own even if the odds were stacked against him.
Both of them are surprised one night to see a splotch of color on their hands, a thin matching thread that begins to grow as the days go by.
Thankfully, neither are disappointed.

He narrows his gaze when the teen shifts; just the thought of sharing this rooftop with Japan's most notorious villain makes his skin prickle. “Deku.”
“Y-yes!” the teenager cries out in relief, taking a small step towards Shota, “I’m Deku! I’m so g-glad you—”
“Deku,” Shota growls darkly, flicking out his capture weapon hastily to snag the villain before he can make his move. He's quick to tug it taut, leaving no room for Deku to escape. “You’re under arrest.”
“I-I’m what?! W-wait!”
